I remember when I started out in alarms the 1960's the first fire alarm I saw was an ADT building alarm with copper tubing threaded through the building and under pressure. If the building caught fire, the gas in the tube triggered a pressure switch sounding a local bell. Primitive but effective. Nice collection. Kudos

​​​​​@@GabetheSlackerIt's for security reasons, so people that pull them, can't un-pull a station so FD knows which one is activated, and just to make it so you can't unactivate the device (Even though once it's pulled, resetting it won't unalarm the system, but still). They are like extra detailed light switches with locks in a way lol

11:25 check the model number. SpectrAlert Classics come in a beige version too, not just red and white. So it might be a beige and not just faded white. I don't see too many of those, so yours might actually be less common than you thought. I can't totally tell from the video, it could just be faded or not. I think the model number for beige ends in B.

Give some get some, if you can fund them yourself without actually spending money and keep the hobby neat they will be more likely to let you have them. There are many ways to get units without paying a ton, such as asking fire alarm companies for old units or checking for disposed units after an upgrade
