I personally feel that the boyfriend is too good for her. The fact that he even went to a national broadcast for this problem, shows that he really loves her & he wants to solve it without breaking up. I don't think girls befriending boys is a wrong thing to do, because we deserve to be friends with anybody. But there is still this boundary thing of what to do and what not to do, especially when you already have a partner. You should respect your partner as well. Drinking with your opposite gender friends, or travelling together with them are totally okay for me as long as you don't drink till you're wasted and get two separate rooms while travelling.

The problem is SHE'S NOT HAPPY. She is in a state of depression. She said that she's not happy unless she's drinking, so she is constantly drinking to escape from whatever the source of her unhappiness is. And unfortunately she has become an alcoholic. At this point, she can't just quit. She's going to need some outside help, because the boyfriend said she gets the shakes if she's not drinking. So her body is already in a severely addicted state, which means she's been depressed and drinking like this for a really long time. I'm not even sure why she's with him. Maybe he was a glimmer of hope when she met him. I'm sure she stays with him because he's probably her only source of stability, but if she doesn't get it together, she's going to lose him. If she can get help to fix/heal whatever issues she has that she's using alcohol to run away from, she may turn out ok. As far as her boyfriend is concerned, if he's smart, he'll stop ignoring all the red flags and run, but he's probably scared he won't find another young pretty girl at his age. If he broke up with her, that may give her the wake up call she needs in order to change, then they can eventually get married and live happily ever after. But it could also go the other way and send her further into depression. Either way, he should probably leave. She has to want to get better for herself., and who knows how long that will take for her to get to that point. She's acting clueless, but I'm pretty sure she knows she has a problem. She just doesn't want to face it yet. Or maybe she really is clueless and is so caught up and blinded in her addiction that she can't see what everyone is telling her. Maybe all she can see is alcohol. I pray she gets the help she needs so she can be happy and healthy.

It's just so unfortunate that the people there still have a biased view towards those who need/have sought help from psychologists or psychiatrists and they'd immediately be labeled as "mentally crazy". Aside from that, i think she tries to avoid the problems because she's much younger in the relationship ? Staying in a bad situation is foolishness. Getting out is not "running like a bitch". If she wants to get help, then good. But he has to determine whether he wants to truly live in that situation for the rest of his life because she may never change. Marriage is no joke. My mom had/has plantar fasciitis, it was honestly horrible watching her be in pain from it, everytime she sat down then got up it was like she couldn’t walk bc of the muscles tightening & struggling to relax, took her almost 2 years to overcome, still not completely over it

i think her concern is not really a guy friend problem more like an alcohol problem...she needs help they are aiming at the leaves not the root of the prob

If I was the guy I'd be more concerned about her drinking habits than her friends. And I really hate the way they're trying to change her. I honestly think that for the most part she's just like that, she's not in the wrong, is not cheating or anything that he's scared of... BUT she's not his type. When you're dating someone who is so far from your own perspective or from what you think is right, instead of crucifying them you should just realize you're not meant for each other and break up.
