My cheap Audi R8 is ready for its first roadtrip! But first there's a few modifications and checks we need to do to the R8 V8. This is the first time my Girlfriend Hannah has driven my Audi R8 and it has a newely fitted ‪@ARMYTRIX‬ exhuast fitted to it which sounds insane! Something tells my the valve system will come in handy when on the roadtrip.

I`m a 75 year old bloke and love your energy and enthusiasm Matt and all without the need for "language" as is the case with so many others. I love the R8. Remember, class dresses down! Keep the roof box and the mounts they give it the look of a launch pad.

Was never a fan of the colour at first but I must confess with the wheels and calipers it is so distinctive, its definitely a grower and if you do turbocharge it- it will be a true beast.

The maxi stuff does look good i got the maxi front splitter and I have cracked it so many times,any slope or bump you need to think about,I even stopped going to certain petrol stations because I can't get down the slole without it cracking and bits falling off

Not a fan of the "carbon look" splitter and side skirts. I was in a similar dilemma with my Polo but ended up going with gloss black and I'm very happy with my choice 👌

Just caught up with the R8 build and really enjoyed it. Did they ever say what actually caused the scoring in the cylinder? I have a 996 911 and its becoming more common on those cars. The plating they used flakes off the piston and drags it against the cylinder wall. When it gets really bad the piston actually slaps against the cylinder wall because it doesn't fit correctly anymore. Love the positivity and enjoying the content.

All the add ons are superb...but self tappers will rip out at speed. Should have used nuts and bolts. And the roof box....OK I guess now the R8 could double up as a hearse. Have a great Christmas and New Year.

The R8 looks great with the new eh.. low stuff. But that ski-box looks thick and cheap, "family look", and it has the wrong angle which gives a lift on the Autobahn, I would throw it away. You should find a more sleek model and with real mountings. Suction cups on highway - prepare for disaster! Btw, love your videos! Greetings from Norway, we who have tested it all, ski boxes with suction cups falling off on highways etc... :D

Roof box works a treat. But Matt please put your front plate on and lose the front window tints, keep it legal. Not too sure in the splitter and side skirts? Id only go genuine carbon.

I would never use self tapping screws again! I mounted my frontsplitter on my rs4 b7 with them and at 280 km/h they ripped out of the plastic pumper....i could see my splitter flying away in the rear mirror...always use bolts and nuts.

About the leaking windows, my audi tts mk2 leaks small amounts of water and when opening the doors. Kinda annoying because you got to wipe the water up every time off the seat!
