Talk no jutsu is kinda like stupid at times but sometimes naruto really nails these moments because the entire principle of naruto is to innately and spiritually change people by showing them how much his words mean to him. Like if TenTen tried talk no jutsu nobody would give a fck but with Naruto it works because it is upto the person to ensure how much weight their word carries. It's just like in real life. You would be surprised how well talk no jutsu works in our mundane daily lives once you have proven yourself to be worthy enough to follow through.

I believe that as well. I never thought that this was that far fetched. The only difference that I've seen in real life is that it just takes more time than in this show lol (say if you're having a heated political disagreement with somone, or an emotional misunderstanding). Then you can actually get to the heart of things and bring you and the other person together most times no matter how at odds you are (within reason, obviously). If you are honest and actualyl comign from a place of good faith, and you're clear about communicating that then people can turn around. It just takes effort, empathy, and time. Its exhausting, but that why naruto is an aspirational character at this point. Pre-pain arc, he someone you relate to, but after the pain arc (and solidified with the waterfall of truth), he becomes someone we should aspire to be more like. And the fact that we related to him at one point makes it seem more likely that we COULD be more like him. I don't think that switch is an accident either, it seems like a clear, intentional shift.

@@BOLDcast Totally agree, this is probably why Naruto is one of those few shows which I recommend people to watch once in their life, even though it is by no means one of my top rated shows. It's one of my favorites but it has a ton of glaring flaws. What it does have going for it is the depiction of a soulful journey. Idk how exactly to phrase it but Naruto overall, just has this very special and endearing outlook on life. Ofcourse it's exaggerated at times but it still manages to ground itself emotionally and is rooted in real world sentiments, it manages to present the most idealistic scenarios as something that people can legitimately strive towards. This is also partly why I just can't bring myself to watch long shonens anymore. Most of the new shonens like mha and even slightly older ones like hxh have fewer glaring plot holes and they do have good plot + entertaining overall but they don't strike a chord with me emotionally at all. It's like Naruto's dumb optimism looks goofy if you watch og naruto for the first time in 2021 but in shippuden between episode 1 and the final episode (minus Kaguya and some of the fillers) you go on this journey where the story makes the viewer believe that his goofy optimism might just become reality. I mean we already know.....since he is mc in a shonen but knowing is not the same as 'believing' if it makes any sense? And if that's possible then it makes sense why Obito and pain were swayed by him. Talk no jutsu is legitimately his greatest power, sure it seems cringe in some moments mostly because of repeated dialogue , "comrades" but the overarching theme and reasoning behind it is rock solid imo. Which isn't the case in an anime like for eg- Fairy Tail where it feels 'fake' and over emphasis on this emotional aspect to a power up feels shoe horned in because they never went through the journey that Naruto did.

@@BOLDcast It makes sense that it would be easier in the world of naruto becouse the nature of chakra, it's primary purpose is to connect people's genuine thoughts and emotions so understanding and trusting the person you are "arguing" with would make things go smoother.. I don't think talk no jutsu would be possible with words alone.

that spirit world is not given enough credit by anyone, it's been forshadowed a long time ago and we saw it a while back for the first time, and it gets connected back again later on, it was the starting point that Naruto as a story took into spiritualism and philosophy, as much as it feeds into the whole talk no jutsu meme, it's a great message in my opinion and one that has been there since the land of waves arc

Tbh I never got the hate for Talk no Jutsu. It's something that sets Naruto apart from other shonen anime and it's often well done because the people who Naruto talks to are people he can relate to. A lot better than your standard fight where no one leaves the fight any wiser.

@@SmallBLOX1 It was realistic, the problem was that it gets bogged down by flashbacks to the point that you begin to not really care about it. Whereas TnJ with Nagato was to the point which is why it had a lot of impact, TnJ with Obito was drawn-out and that's why people ended up disliking it.

People like to complain about "Talk no jutsu" which I understand, but this is the most suitable/believable example in my opinion. Naruto and Obito reflect 2 sides of the same coin. Naruto is realizing that, meanwhile Obito is struggling to deny it.

i just loved the fact that they resembeled obito with naruto.......both of them have the same charatceristics, determination, dedication and love for their comrades.....the only thing that was different ...naruto got iruka, ramen guy, kakashi, jiraiya...whereas obito got madara......i really felt very bad for obito....he was such an innocent guy who was completely filled with hatred by madara in such a young age.....

If you think about it: It wasn't Naruto's TNJ which made Obito having regrets but Kakashi's confession about being not so wrong with the dark path. Obito never trusted Madara in first place, but he adopted the Plan it was the most important element to acchieve world peace and he was willing to make it suceess. He was so op that obligated Naruto to trap him in a kinda spiritual genjutsu where he can see how strong the Will of fire of the shinobi Alliance was.

I would have more of a problem with talk no jutsu if it worked on purely evil villains but like Nagato and Obito, there's clear motives that weren't bred from simple hatred. The world took Yahiko from Nagato, specifically Danzo and Hanzo, so he despises the system they upheld and seeks to create the only form of 'peace' he thinks is attainable. The world took Rin from Obito, specifically the Hidden Leaf and the Hidden Mist, so he infiltrates the Hidden Mist and controls the Mizukage and attacks the Hidden Leaf to punish them for not protecting Rin. They're obviously villains but they're more complex than "I'm the bad guy because I want to destroy." Which is why I think 'talk no jutsu' isn't really that big of a problem.

The chakra is still in the tree, the ten-tails has an almost infinite amount of chakra even without the full nine-tails and eight-tails chakra it still has more than enough chakra to power Obito and the tree.

50% of nine tails chakra is equivalent to 1-7 tails total chakra. So it is not even close to being infinite. Considering gedo statue, it is at best 9 tails level of power so it was doable with 5 kage and previous kage quite easily

I have no doubt, that obito could have been hokage. He's basically the same as naruto fundamentally, and he's and uchiha. The 4th and 3rd would have thought it wise to elect an uchiha they trusted to quell the rebellion. It would have been the best thing that ever happened to the village. And if obito remained good, growing with kakashi as a partner and rival, they would both likely be even more powerful. He has the attitude and soul of a senju in the body of an uchiha. He literally IS the will of fire.
