T'challa lost his father in tragic way in front of his eyes when he was already grown up (already formed personality) and he did try his best to kill a man he believed killed his father. After some time to cool off and learning the truth about who killed his father and why (it wasn't aimed at him or his father, wasn't on purpose, they weren't direct targets, I'm not trying to justify anything I'm just saying that he understood what Zimo said).

What I really love about this movie in the way of the characters, is that both Cap and Iron Man come out this through their growth in the other films. For example, Iron Man is directly responsible for the events of Age of Ultron and now thinks that oversight is a good thing. On the other side of things, Cap saw what too much oversight could do in the Winter Soldier and grew untrusting of positions of authority. So it makes a lot of sense that they would take the stance that they did on the Accords.

However, I believe both sides are morally correct, in BOTH situations! I'm personally team Cap for both situations, but I could never fault anyone for being team Tony for either. The death of his parents is understandable, sure. No one would think rationally in that situation. The accords however? I really can't understand tonys side, at all. Sokovia was his fault, and his alone. If anything he should have just retired himself and let the others continue. The others? Well that wasn't really the avengers fault, and more people would have died for sure if they didn't do what they did. With our modern politicians and corrupt governments... would you really let THEM decide when and where to use them? I mean, as an example: Russia is a part of the U.N (and have veto on votes), enough said. Oh, and China too. Tony should know this better than anyone, he was in the arms trade for many years. Probably dealt with a lot of politicians etc. He felt guilty for his own mistakes. Team cap all the way.

@@Draugheim I agree. If Tony did not build Ultron, they wouldn't be in the mess they are in. Why the heck would you put your trust in the Government over what the Avengers should do and how to do it? They just would make the Avengers choose sides and argue again. Either way, you lose. That's why I stick with Team Cap as well.

I'll concede that Stark and Banner (who everyone always seems to forget) are responsible for creating Ultron, but Ultron basically activated itself when they weren't in the room, and weren't even aware that he could do that, I think that line makes it clear that they hadn't moved passed trying to establish a way to communicate and access the AI already in the scepter. Maybe a weird analogy, but saying Tony is responsible for what happened with Sokovia (not Ultron itself), is like saying a man is responsible for the actions of a kid he was never told he had after a one-night stand. Sure they're both responsible for creating the one committing the actions, but they had no way of preventing or controlling those actions after that, because they never even had the option of raising them (again, no interface sounds to me like they wouldn't even be able to access, let alone modify the 'code' in the Mind Stone)." I'd like to add to the topic of the Accords specifically by saying that (afaik) most people on Tony's side aren't necessarily in favor of the Accords, but instead believe that the Avengers require oversight and accountability for the collateral damage they leave in their wake. Does that mean someone like Ross should have power over the Avengers? Absolutely not, and it also doesn't mean the Avengers should lose all say in whether they intervene somewhere, but I do think Ross' speech is overlooked too much. "What would you call a group of US-based, enhanced individuals who routinely ignore sovereign borders and inflict their will wherever they choose and who, frankly, seem unconcerned about what they leave behind?" Imagine something like that in the real world. Would you really accept a real world Avengers Initiative under those conditions? How about "My father lived outside the city. I thought we would be safe there. My son was excited. He could see the Iron Man from the car window. I told my wife, "Don't worry. They are fighting in the city. We're miles from harm." When the dust cleared . . . and the screaming stopped. It took me two days until I found their bodies. My father . . . still holding my wife and son in his arms. And the Avengers? They went home." Do you really think Zemo is the only person something like this happened to? I mean we even know of a very similar situation with Charlie Spencer, should a group like this really be able to operate with "unlimited power and no supervision?" If anything I'd say it's surprising that the UN took so long to intervene, especially considering Winter Soldier happened 2 years before the Accords were brought up.

What a lot of people don’t understand is that the entire point of Cap acting a bit more on his emotions is his character development. Instead of being that square, boy scout kinda guy, he needs some sort of depth. It’s to show that Cap isn’t perfect, but he’s always trying his best and to Cap, he can see that in everyone, Tony included. That’s why he sent that letter in the end of the movie. @Grimmdus3 жыл бұрын
It was definitely emotion-based. His best friend growing up, and with Peggy now dead, is his only connection to his past that he lost. He is a man out of time and that takes a toll more than he shows. He also had the guilt of his friend being in that position because he fell from that train because he believed in Steve and went with him on his team. On top of all of that, his emotions with Peggy recently dying and the stress of all the events and failures and now the accords on his shoulders are probably so enormous the idea of his world being pulled out of his control can not be underestimated. The break from his perceived normal behavior is really just a combination of the stress and challenge of his past loyalties and life and by the uncertainty of his future and the weight of the present. The fact that he kept it together as well as he did is a testament to the boy scout he is despite the influence of modern life it is nothing short of amazing. All of this abnormal behavior is understandable and yet at the same time is quite believable for his character if you take the whole picture into play. He may seem integrated into the current life but he is only a few years removed from his past a past that is a much larger part of him than this past few years. He never really stopped being a soldier at war. So while he is immensely close to the other avengers as a fellow soldier there is also this divide because they can't really understand his experience as a man out of time. From start to finish this couldn't be more than 4 years? Think of all the things he went through in that time.

Wonderful reaction as always! This movie is definitely stressful because we love them all and hate seeing them fight! I wish they'd pointed out that Steve knew Howard too though. Tony once referred to Steve as "that guy my dad wouldn't shut up about" so I feel like just a line of acknowledgement in there would have helped a lot, especially since we saw Steve and Howard so much in CA:FA. Steve has come to terms with the fact that Bucky was brainwashed but it's gotta be hard for him too and I'm kinda surprised Tony didn't throw that in his face a bit. It would probably have helped Tony understand longterm when things aren't so raw that Steve really is in the middle on this one no matter what angle you're coming from. It's just tragic and seeing Bucky put himself back into the chamber to avoid hurting anyone is so sad.
@surfersilver66103 жыл бұрын
Yeah people TOTALLY miss Steve is caught in a 3-way emotional-connection fight with Bucky & Howard being long time friends from his era and now Tony a new friend in the present who is also the son of Howard Stark(Thanks to Fonduing). Steve could hate Bucky for what he did but being a soldier along with Howard they know they might have to pay a price for being who they are(military) and have more fortitude/restraint in that area having seen death 1st hand in battles, where Tony is NOT a Soldier(As seen in Avengers 1 when Steve asks Tony, Tony has no experience other than his capture in Iron Man 1) so he can't handle that stuff. Let's not even get into the organization his Peggy started being infiltrated and co-responsible for this whole mess(They knew Howard Starks movements, probably bugged his car/person etc.). So make that a 4-Way connection....and not in the kinky way, this isn't Deadpool.

Seriously your best one yet! I look forward to these every week! Holden love the small reactions you do during videos to us fans and subscribers and it cracks me up to see Jen just eye roll you. I can not WAIT for infinity war and End Game reviews but I know that’s a month or two off. Just love the channel and the videos. Keep up the great work.

And a pretty important thing to remember is, Steve may have known that Hydra had the Starks killed, he did not know that Bucky did it.

I think he knew. Zola said in The Winter Soldier. "Accidents will happen" and then it cut to Howard Stark's death newspaper. When explaining that Bucky was at fault for many assassinations. kzbin.info/www/bejne/e2WbZ4ugnb57npo

Yes! I don't really take any sides about this movie but I have a lot of opinions about the accords themselves

I always thought Cap was only slightly able to nudge Mjolnir in AoU because he was still hiding this from Tony, deeming him just a tad bit unworthy and unhonorable from hiding the fact. Anyway, keep it up man. Love that you shouted out at our friend from Corridor Crew(I forgot the name but I love him too). Cheers!

Ah missed opportunity to insert a cut of Luis from Antman saying "Back it up, back it up slow..." lol

LOL! But I think Tony facemapped onto "You turned her against me!" makes up for it.

God this was really one of their best. Such brilliant introductions to Black Panther AND Peter Parker. Plus the paprika scene! So much excellence.

You're forgetting, Cap clearly knew how Tony's parents died. But he did say, he did not know it was bucky who did it.

Folks forget that part. Also ppl forget that Natasha knew about it a bit as both were made aware Stark was assassinated in winter soldier.

They literally showed Bucky on the monitor when they mentioned the death of the starks but i guess it’s up to how u take it
@cynaracherrycaryccc3 жыл бұрын
@@BiggestWolf1 you are correct it winter soldier showed in photo (of him supposedly assassinating jfk I think) and I personally took it as bucky was utilize to murder targets included stark and Hydra made it look like an accident. The one plothole imo about civil war is Natasha dumped all this info on web so I always found it weird stark wasn't aware his parents were assassinated by Hydra.

Side note - Tom Holland got the part partially because he demonstrated gymnastic ability in his audition tape where he flipped into screen

On the "you have a metal arm?" part, we can see Bucky's face turning from "did he hold my fist?" to "wait, A KID HOLD MY FIST?!!" pretty quickly 😂.
