My GLA45 AMG Broke Down in a Snowstorm! (ABS Sensor, Speed Sensor, 4Matic, Traction, How To Fix)
My GLA45 AMG encountered several errors - 4matic unavailable, parking brake see owners manual, abs unavailable, traction control unavailable, collision prevention assist inoperative, and it felt like I lost power steering.
After a diagnosis we determined it was the ABS sensor, also known as a speed sensor. After replacing we no longer have any issues!

Thanks for the super clear documentary of the speed sensor issue with your GLA AMG. I am here right after the very same issue happened to me today in a heavy rain downpour (in my case A45 AMG late 2015 facelifted model). As an interesting background: the car had just been serviced by MB garage and as my start-stop was not working both batteries were replaced (2 weeks ago). This was my first outing and I was completing a 340km trip in heavy rain on a twisty mountain road. The loss of power steering was a concern at low speeds but going faster this was not an issue. Anyway, It is reassuring that you could still drive the vehicle safely. I just wonder whether heavy snow or rain had something to do with this problem or some voltage-related glitch caused it. Anyway, my not being a technician, your video helped me a lot. Thank you very much, and keep up the great work. V

I'm seriously glad you found some use out of the video, but I'm sorry for your issues! Since this video, I've found that many of the electronic gremlins these cars have are caused by issues with battery voltage, apparently even the stop-start battery being old can cause issues. In my cause, I believe what happened was excess brake dust ruined the sensor. I had recently serviced the brakes, and it seems a likely culprit. The loss of power steering and the emergency brake warning startled me so much, I rashly assumed the parking brake was malfunctioning, but it did drive home with no lasting issues. These are fantastic cars, and seem pretty bulletproof aside from these little intermittent issues. I've sold this car now, but being a Lotus owner I always though this power train would be amazing in my Elise, so I'm extremely excited to see how the new Emira performs with it. Personally I'll most likely opt for a used V6 Manual here in a couple years, but with tuning I'm sure the AMG powered one will be the dominant track toy. I'm still not sure what caused the failure, odd for them to both go out simultaneously. But luckily it was an easy fix, and a much smaller problem than I originally felt like it was going to be! Thank you for watching 👊🏼

I sold it about a year ago - definitely enjoyed my ownership and the new owner is loving it as well. I'd buy one again, one of my favorite cars I've owned but I was downsizing and decided it was time to sell.
