I made this! I used spinach instead of nettles, and I accidentally bought pickled green peppercorns instead of capers!! I added a few chopped olives and a tablespoon of soft pickled peppercorns. I only had small muffin papers. The recipe made 18. They were wonderful! This is so much better than my usual bagel breakfast! Great videography, great music, even better food! You are inspiring.

I just collected all the ingredients and was wondering if the strange "muffin" pan for something in between cupcakes and muffins would mean the muffins would come out too dry. Glad to hear the size isn't a problem.
@thatsalt15606 ай бұрын
Back with a review: Absolutely delicious! I made one change and I'm mentioning it in case others have the same "problem". I'm one of the unfortunate people who only get an intense taste of soap from cilantro. I always substitute it with parsley, so my muffins had parsley in them.

Stinging nettles remind me of my grandparents. My grandpa would collect them with his bare hands and my grandma would just cook them down to the most delicious mash. Good memories 🫶
@spiralx62493 ай бұрын
Don't really have to cook them. Half-fill a kettle and turn on while you pop outside and collect your nettles. (GLOVES!). By the time you're back, the kettle has boiled, or is close. Pour the boiling water on, cover and leave for 10-15 minutes. The water will go yellow-green. Throw it away, and those nettles are ready to go!

I’m from the U.S. and I LOVE savory breakfast. Most Americans tend toward super heavy sweet, high-carbohydrate (to a ridiculous degree). Syrup. Cereal. Biscuits (American) swimming in a puddle of white gravy (think papier-mâché), waffles, pancakes. Just yuck! I personally love a savory breakfast. Soups. Stews. Leftover roasted meat. Pickled anything. Yoghurt or cottage cheese with savory herbs. Kimchee is KILLER in the morning. I just can’t handle most of the sugary stuff that my fellow countrymen eat for breakfast! …said the guy who everyone thinks is a pretentious snob.

Did ye know that nettles are a cousin to the cannabis plant? They used to make textiles out of nettle a forgotten art. Stinging nettles are one of the best herbs we can use to detoxify and strengthen our kidneys, the seeds being the most powerful, I pick them fresh off the plant and eat them, the female ones, if we use the leaves the root and the seeds together, well nothing compares in this world! In ancient Greek times, the stinging nettle leaf was used mainly as a diuretic and laxative. Now the plant is used for many cures. Illnesses it is used to help treat are cancer and diabetes. Nettle leaf is among the most valuable herbal remedies.
