Hello Warwick, absolutely love your videos - have learned so much from you. We bail horses from the kill lot and you have been a wealth of information. Thank you so much.

Several people mentioned it here, including WS himself, but nobody said its name. What is his book's name?

Beeing around horses for most of my life, i know its easy to get stuck in old familiar ways. Im glad that there are god trainers that are willing to questioning, and developing their methods, for the benefit of the horses. Unfortunately there are to many traumatised horses, that are waisted, because of intolerans.

I like this. Using something they like to blend and stretch the standing tied . Rather than blending and stretching it around something they are anticipating as uncomfortable. Which is usually what we do. Even tieing and grooming can be something horses put up with. My mule isn't all that thrilled with being groomed. But eating and being left alone is the ultimate gift. ❤😂

Hi Warwick this is Jinal from india. Glad to see your video after a very long time. Can you do a small video on how to get rid of fear of being bit or kicked by a horse while being around them?

I agree with most everything except when I teach them to tie (especially babies) I want them to pull back and test it a bit, I don’t go waving things around at them but I just wait and see what happens, first we always teach them to lead and respond to pressure, and by that time they start to become friendlier then I’ll tie them to rubber tire insides that we’ve attached to posts, since their little and have fragile necks it stretches for them so they don’t hurt themselves, and the first few times of tieing I leave them for a few minutes and every single one tests it by either trying to walk away, or some do start fighting it, but I just want them to learn when their babies that when their tied they can’t get away so in the future if they feel like not standing there anymore, they know they have to because it’s impossible to get away

so watching this, I'm beginning to wonder why people tie up thier horses?
@kidstuff445553 күн бұрын
Tbh, I don't tie mine 99% of the time. I just loop the lead rope over the tie ring, or drop it on the ground, or have it over my arm. However I do teach them to give to solid pressure, not fight it. This is important for safety reasons. One of the first things I teach all my horses is to stand still while I move all around them and touch them all over. A lot of people don't teach their horse to stand still, so they feel like they have to tie them to do anything with them

I've been using this exact technique for over 15 yrs. People tell me I'm not actually teaching them to tie, just to wait on grain. So why will they continue to stand for 2 hrs? Oh, they're tied😂
