for a first drone would you recommend the nazgul 5 or protek 35? I mostly want to do outdoor shots and mountain surfed. These gopro settings will definitely help me!

Both serve different purposes dude, protek 35 will be a good choice for smooth and slow flying if there is no wind. For mountain surfing a better option would be a seven inch like the chimera 7 with crossfire and you need lot of juice. Good luck 🍀

No that`s not true! It does support it, but a lot of people prefer the 2,7K because you will get the typical 16:9 format after Reelsteady! But I use both 4K and 2,7K and it works just fine

6 and 7 looked like a pair to me, and 8 and 9 looked like another pair. I could see difference between pairs but not between members of pairs themselves. is there wrong shutter speed on 6 and 7? looks kinda choppy compared to 8 and 9. are they in the same configuration (settings, nd)? if yes, then 8 and 9 are a really big jump in quality.

Nope, nothing wrong with shutter speed. Everything is the same, only white balance was set to "native" in older videos :)

Hi Tom, great video! I finally got my Hero 8 and now watched it the 2nd time, the only thing I wonder is if Hypersmooth will work with ND filters? I have read that Hypersmooth has problems stabilizing the blurry image. And which ND filters do you need? Do you use ND 2 or 4 or only 8, 16 and 32?

Just use a higher shutter speed and that should fix the problem. For example if you film in 25fps, use 100 shutter..

That's weird! In reelsteady try using the lowest stabilization possible, so push both slider all the way to the left.

Shutter speed should be double the frame rate.. for “cinematic look”.. If you have shutter and fps is the same number.. you get more motion blur, but it doesnt look good in my opinion.. too much blur

I used to use it, but for my taste.. it distorts the image too much. And you really have to fly close to objects to film the whole frame and get a good composition. I might sttill used it one day again

Hi an information. I use ND filters on my DJI for a good shutter speed but after I chose the right number(8-16-32...) I put my record in automatic mode for a perfect exposure. In fact it’s very difficult with manual setting take a perfect exposition with a drone because there are orbit and other kind of shooting that change always exposition. It’s a good idea or is it better edit everything in post production and record in manual mode?

I always record in manual mode, because it doesn't look professional if the exposure keeps changing during the flight :)

I’m currently shooting quite dynamic scenery in 30p and stabilize in ReelSteady and edit on a 24p timeline slowed down 20%. I’m getting complaints that the frame rate is to low but I hate the crisp 60p digital look. Do you have any suggestions?

Hi, thanks for watching my content. Yes I edit on a 25fps timeline, because sometimes i decide to slow down certain "most epic" parts of the footage. I film in 50, 100 or even in 200 fps.. but 90% of time it's 25 or 50 fps :)

You have to do stuff for free first, tu build a portfolio that you can show to your potential clients. It's both.. you will get approached by potential clients, if they like your stuff.. and you also need to consistently do outreach to brands you want to work with.

why you don't shoot 5k 25p for reelstady, you sad you shoot 4k 4:3 or 4k for reelstady. But why dont shoot 5k for reelstady, yes they crop - this is a reason ? but data video will be more detailed if you shoot it in 5k.. ? thx

you can tell that you come from a camera background and got into fpv after, reelsteady go works better with x4 shutterspeed, and when moving the gopro that fast you still get the motionblur, to much motionblur with only x2 shutterspeed. FinickyFPV always uses x4 shutterspeed. Helps with reelsteadygo alot

If you are doing super fast movements like flip & roll movements.. yes double shutter works better. But for normal cinematic flying - double shutter works just fine. And you get more motion blur :)

@@tomstrojnik too much motion blur, sure the 180 rule works for stationery cameras, but for moving cameras x4 is the rule. Maybe some day you will realise this and see that you are wrong.

But when just cruising around I prefer double shutter look, so 100 shutter with 50fps. Anyway I always say that Art is subjective, we like different things! GoPro 6 definitely looks worse than the 8/9. I could for sure tell a difference on my 27inch Mac. Probs wouldn't tell much of a difference on a Phone tho.
