Wow, I think this is the best gopro tutorial for fpv. Brilliant video, drew!
@biscuitsalive4 жыл бұрын
Little tip for you. If you are flying in and out of dark areas, then the exposure change will be smoother if you allow auto shutter speed and allow slightly higher iso max. If you limit it to 100iso it only has one variable to change. The shutter. And that’s one less tool the camera has for quick exposure changes. So you are more likely to get a ugly “clunk” as it gets to raise exposure when you’ve just flown into a much darker zone. I will choose smooth transitions with a little added noise (whilst in dark section) Over a clunky transition any day.

Hey drew I solved the polarpro vignetting a few weeks ago by heating the filter to loosen glue, popping out the glass, then spraying the gold inside part with a matte black spray paint. Done! Best ND filters in the game after doing this.

I dig that all your setting recommendations are actually feasible on a lot of GoPros, so those of us that are still rocking (for example) a Session 5 can do all the things you recommend until we can splurge for the Hero 7. And if you mix and match cameras for different quads/wings, you can keep your footage consistent. Not that I’m saying the Hero 7 isn’t awesome, just appreciating the fact that this video wasn’t “OMG, the only way to get good footage is with this magical unicorn setting that only the Hero 7 Black has!”

What do you do if you’re in the UK and have constant great overcast sky? 🌫
@bandobandit3535 жыл бұрын
Clouds help flatten light but cause contrast issues when the camera is trying to expose sky and ground. This is one case where you might be better off locking exposure and letting the sky blow out. But if you're flying both indoors and outdoors in the same flight then you're skrewed...

My best advice is to learn how to use color curves. Gopro's tend to expose to the right, so normally you can add contrast just by bringing the shadows and mids down and leave the highs alone...

I want to put this gopro hero cam on but how do I use it for my fpv flying? Can I sync it to my controller that came with my drone? Is there an fpv support app? My drone can fly out a mile but after about 300-500ms I loose camera reception and start flying blind. Depending on the area. I need advice and guidance please and thank you.
