I’m a member. The gym is great, but I think some improvements could help! (Depending on costs, etc.) Murals - made it ironforge branded, not anime - need new leg extension machines - organize the machines by: legs, push, pull (maybe? Just a thought. Everything is spaced out in random areas and everything is switched up after an mma fight weekend.) - get more ab equipment/machines - fix all 4 broken cardio treadmills/stair masters - I’d say if possible, get rid of benches and get some combo racks against that wall for efficiency and space. - fix the surround sound - more mirrors - do something with that corner were the old roped off ramp was. It has potential to place 1-2 machines there - maybe some more 25 lb plates - definitely NEED more barbells for the racks you already have. I can never find more than 1-2 of them you can also try back to school promos with student IDs or maybe discounted prices for hospital works, etc. since RR has a decent sized healthcare district

UNSOLICITED ADVICE: You seem more concerned with the weights aspect of the gym even though over 2/3 of your revenue is from the fighting memberships. This is a fighting gym; Buy them the damn cage! Unless you plan to shift to a more to a conventional gym, but you'll face a lot more competition and undercutting of the price. Idk your market, but in my market, there's a bunch of sub $30 gyms which have more than you currently offer in workout equipment and amenities (sauna, pool, etc.). I imagine that's the case where you are, which is why excluding the early birds, only ~6% of your revenue is regular gym memberships (6% vs 66% for the fighting memberships). Cater to your fighter's needs/wants. Also, offer your normal gym-goers a free 1-day fight class and a discounted rate for additional classes to help cross sell and add value to the regular membership. If it's $25 for some bum off the street, your members should only pay $10-15 if they want to try a class out. That's my 2 cents.

But they aren’t breaking even or turning a profit. They have like 5 owners that aren’t getting paid. Subsidizing the gym with streaming money is not a sustainable business model. If the gym has to be shut down when they stop their streaming careers how is that a successful gym? They can show you all the green numbers they want on the screen, the truth is this gym is a money-sink for them right now; they are losing money, not gaining.

Add a kettle Bell room with classes. Olympic Weightlifting platforms with available instruction. Get isometric/ Hammerstrength machines instead of too many machines with chains because those require technicians to fix them. Get your Mirrors and also possibly a posing room for bodybuilders. Maybe a room for bodybuilder content creators with its own equipment that can be rented privately. Host powerlifting meets, bodybuilding contest. The power all of you streamers have put together is massive so thats like a force multiplier for anything you do. I believe in your journey. I'm going to be real with you. As someone in North Pflugerville, I'm your target demo person. The gym itself just doesn't have enough equipment for serious lifters. The plates weren't matching when I saw it and it's a massive pet peeve of mine. The price itself it also high for the area, so unless you are particularly interested in doing MMA, it doesn't make sense. Fitness connection is a couple of exits away and the cost per month is $12, while Iron Forge is $55. Should also add there's a handful of IFBB pro's at Fitness Connection. I think you really need to go for a niche and steer that path. Think of iconic gyms like Dragon's Lair in Vegas, it has top of the line equipment, art, and cater to experienced lifters. You need heavy upfront costs if you want to stand out from the saturated gym market of Austin.

After watching this video my view totally changed on him. This is not an easy task and deserves a lot of respect. I think the gym looks great. Would 100% sign up for this gym if I lived down in TX. My only suggestion is that I am not sure if I would put anime on the wall. Unless maybe it's some sort of weight lifting anime but don't overdo it, def do not put some weeaboo crap thou. You wanna attract people that lift weights and are into fitness, that audience is not gonna be kids that play computer games all day and watch anime. Might get one or 2 but def wouldn't be anything that could net a profit. Hats off to you and this venture. I am very impressed and I do think this is gonna be a big profit in the future even if currently it isn't as thriving as you'd hoped it would.

Honestly Mizkif should get some influencer’s out to his gym and do some collabs. Not influencers like his friends I’m talking about actual gym bro influencers, it sounds a little cringe but it attracts people who follow those influencers. Most people don’t have the luxury of going to the same gym as the people they follow. But when they see the person they’re following at a gym that is local for them, it gets them at least curious of the gym they saw said person at. I know this because that’s how I found my gym.

So some asterisks to add as someone that lives in Austin and does Boxing/Fencing + uses a gym 3-4x a week: - The vibe here is mega wack, I know multiple people who have visited and felt unwelcome, the inside feels like an under served apartment gym and you can tell some people are here to try and build clout/make content not lift or get in shape. - It's NOT located in or near Austin, it's in Roundrock, it's a roughly 30 minute - 1 hour drive to Ironforge from downtown Austin let alone if you're on the East side or across the river where a LARGE portion of people that don't have home gyms live. The location is just kinda butts for most people, Austin has like 8x the population of Round Rock. - The fight programs are decent, they're def a top 5 option for the stuff they offer for most people's skill level in the immediate area. - A lot of the machines are kind of suspect, I and others would go to a machine and have to swap our daily programs out cause machines aren't working or they are but you can tell it's about to break. - Prices on stuff is a bit suspect, you can tell they're not ordering in bulk or need to get a new person in charge of that. - Mizkif is telling the truth about the smoothie bar, the license(s) required are a PITA to secure.

Just like with starting out streaming. Newbies think they need the beefiest PC, expensive equipment to be the best streamer only to get disappointed that no one’s watching them. It’s about them. The come up. The journey. The community. Yall can say I’m talking out my ass but as someone who doesn’t really watch anymore and mostly watches clips, which clips is what usually makes me come back to watch streams and clips now a days is what attracts new people to your content. I’m sure people will still like the content but not if it’s attached to the gym. Based of the little I’ve seen. It’s doesn’t feel like a gym. You’re trying to be serious yet goofing off. Degen goofing off. Yes, you should be able to go to the gym, have fun and be able to chat with people but the vibes are all over the place. Went based off having a twitch community which is scattered internationally?, not majority in one location. Miz isn’t known for being a fitness person regardless of him enjoying working out and being in shape. That’s his thing off stream. Knut is just a buff dude who’s funny and random sometimes. Bradley Martin for example, i don’t watch his videos but i run into clips off Sara safari at his gym. She goofs around but still getting an actual workout. Bradley is known in the fitness community and opened his own gym, yeah they have vlogs and goof off but it’s not the same. Majority of people who show up are actually fitness influencers. Even fly out to collab with him. Yes even non fitness influencers, like even sketch and sneako but that still feels like a gym. And his gym isn’t no where near the size of iron forge. Also just throwing “mma” around doesn’t mean anything. Yes you have fighters that your sponsoring and all but again, y’all jumped way to far ahead in certain areas that weren’t necessary (big ass gym). Is the focus MMA? Or just a “cool gym”. Y’all are streamers. Y’all know the dumb goofy shit that happens with parasocial people and just randoms who go into the gym likes it’s LA fitness or come and go likes it’s a Zumba class. That stream where wake kicked out that dude who was buggin Russel and his girl still made y’all look bad. How? It’s known y’all are gonna have intruders or people who are going to disrupt the environment. Yeah other gyms I’m sure they have the same issues but not in the same way and it still looks bad. If it were full of people who were serious about the gym, people like that one guy would think twice before going in to even just get a normal workout. Is this a serious gym? Or something for streamers and average people to goof off. Again yes you can have fun and goof off but idk, I like of majority of the people who show up but i still can’t take it seriously. This is from a viewer perspective and you can’t force people to do stuff and it can be just to help advertise the gym but i liked seeing others go but then they don’t come back. Like i would’ve loved for emi to keep training for MMA. Make vlogs instead and if you stream, get an actual workout in, not so much taking. Set goals for the day. Not just walk around and talk. It’s like how all the lame KZbinrs and TikTokers went to the same boxing trainer/gym (ten goose boxing?) when fousey first went to him, the dudes character seem like a serious person and i felt fousey was gonna get a reality check and get humbled and it was going that way but they fell into social media scene and focused on the money they could make off the influencers who were only doing it short term. I couldn’t take the owner or the gym serious after that. Are the MMA classes serious? Not something like Zumba class but something a real mma gym would do? Consistent everyday or from what i know, not everyone can go every but they set at least 2 days out of the week to go train. Is it a class that’s sets goals to get good and try to get people to keep coming? Not necessarily to compete in MMA but as workout and just sport/hobbie without competing. Barbell Brigade for example started from the bottom. You can tell because of the community they’ve built, they have members who are just like them with similar interest and goals. You can feel it in the environment that when everyone walks in there, everyone comes with respect and on the same page. The owner “Bart Kwan”. Started off doing skits on YT and still does YT in general. “JKNews” and he’s been known for weightlifting and working out and on his personal channel he posted his workouts, stuff on competing and then he decided to open up a gym cause he couldn’t lift the way he wanted. Ex: dropping weights/bars?, all the weightlifting stuff commercial gyms don’t allow. Also didn’t have equipment to help those who want to work out seriously or trained to compete or avoid the average person in a gym that’s only taking up machines for them to quit after a month or people in general who don’t practice proper gym etiquette. He started in a small warehouse/unit? Eventually got a bigger space and then i think he moved to the final place they’re at now and they’re still trying to go bigger but the current place they have now for the past 10+ years in LA is not even close to as big as Iron Forge and they’ve had loyal costumers for years and make money of their gym attire/workout gear they make. Great quality and well thought out. Their marketing is insane, they’re really about fitness. From what I’m reading in some of the comments of people who are members, the equipment isn’t too great. I’m guessing it’s used equipment. No hate but that’s a big issue if they’re breaking down. I believe both zoo culture and barbell both charge about the same price $100+ yeah not everyone can afford that and it’s cool y’all ain’t sweating not making money as owners but y’all are charging the same as LA fitness. Clearly it’s not a serious gym. Wel price doesn’t decide that but the culture and environs there do. 14:22 your goal. “Just make a cool gym, have it be involved in my brand”. You’re brand is meme guy. Your community isn’t serious either. I’m part of that so I’m not trying to say it’s 100% shit. I know there are a lot of good people but it ain’t it. From what i recall at the beginning. You wanted to do something serious. Your brand isn’t serious. Keep stream miz separate from gym miz. Again as i mentioned about Zoo culture gym and barbell brigade. These guys are known in the fitness community and have small gyms. You’re trying to do too much. It’s awesome, what y’all are trying to do but it also has to make sense. Could’ve gotten a smaller gym. Less rent. More money on better equipment and equipment that’s not normally available at a regular gym and making the environment look and feel more inviting. People will follow or lead themselves by example (you) or monkey see monkey do. Also, i love anime but dont add that to the gym. Edit: also for camp Knut. I liked the first time y’all did it. But actually do somewhat of a transformation, something serious like nick did. No need to get super buff or do anything crazy. Real shit so it can inspire people to workout and eat better and be healthier. Isn’t that the point of fitness? Again that’s not the vibes it’s giving off. All i get from it is “come to my gym, we have mma really cheap👍🏼 and haha hashtag stream!”
