I picked up the Anbernic RG406V and it has the power and proper joysticks, they upgraded them on this device, I highly recommend it. It has reignited my passion for retro games that I grew up on. Running emulators on PC or even the more serious PC handleds are ok but these mini hand helds brings it back to life IMO.

yeah the Rg405v was a beast in battery and can handle emulation/android games....pretty good vertical handheld! I can imagine the 406V being better ...Also if you see certain android games that say "not compatible" on google store... they actually are if you can find somewhere and install them. I hopped off and switched to the Odin 2 mini.

Gameboy color (with backlight mod) is still my personal favorite handheld. I don't own any other handhelds at the moment but I enjoy retro games!!! I play NES, SNES, Genesis, N64, PS1, PS2, and PS3. Everything mentioned so far is my favorite.

I absolutely love handheld consoles. I became obsessed around 6 years old when I got a GBA sp and would sneak it into my room at night haha. I remember when the PSP came out, everybody was going crazy over it! I eventually got one and added cfw and homebrew to it. Good memories.. Awesome video btw! 😁

I first started my handheld gaming in the late 70's with the Milton Bradley MicroVision(yes, I'm way old), and from there Game & Watch became a thing(and everything in between). Home consoles were so expensive back then and little one off handhelds just allowed for more usability more often than not. And to this day, I game 95% of the time on a handheld, as it is so much easier and convenient, especially with something like the Steam Deck(which I recently finally purchased).

Honestly this is Me I couldn’t afford anything as a kid either and the only things were the small handheld which would be Christmas present and honestly I feel like they were just amazing because you could take them everywhere with you under your covers in the night secretly playing on road trips it was just a really really nice time and such nostalgic moments!

@@sunpi For me the Steam Deck has been a once in a lifetime handheld gaming device. I haven't bought a new console or handheld since the 360/PS3 and 3DS/Vita gens. I've fallen out of interest with Nintendo over the years, and the Switch was never that interesting to me, and I can't stand how it feels in the hands(beyond poorly designed). The SD is everything I could have ever imagined and then some. I honestly wanted one mostly for emulation and I've been so busy playing PC games, I haven't even bothered to set it up. At 53 years old, this will probably be the only device I continue to buy going forward. The SD2 is still probably a year or two away, and even once it launches I may wait on a good sale or the mid gen refresh. As I haven't even scratched the surface of everything my OLED can do, an 11 out 10 device for sure.

And it doesn't play Gamecube either. Fortunately, competition in the chinese handheld market is growing & prices are dropping for more powerful consoles that can emulate PS2 & Gamecube, so I'm excited about that!

I started with the see-through Gameboy color which I got for my birthday! And YES! I just played Pokémon! xD from there it was straight to DS, DSlite, DSi, 3DS, and of course N3DS and now Switch and Steam deck! :D (Also still have my old bulky OG Gameboy with Tetris on it! xD

I started my retro game collection as well. Just 3 more consoles from my list left to get. I'm considering getting one of those arcades they sell in Smyths as well. They come pre installed with a few games. They cost about £350 in Smyths stores. I think it comes in 3 variants. One of them comes with pac man, another comes with Rampage and the one I want comes with the Mortal Kombat classics and a few other games. All the best with your retro gaming hunting.

Started with them old school brick handheld consoles that had tetris, pinball, spaceships, tennis etc all in one. Then GameBoy Brick, GameBoy Colour, Tamagochis, GBA, Nokia Phones with games on them like 3210/3310/8310. Then Nokia N-Gage, Nokia 6600 and 7600, PSP, PXP3. I got all them 150 Games in 1 with GameBoy Colour/GBA/PXP3/N-Gage. Very handy devices to have also if you're on the go (buy rechargeable batteries and console torch). PEACE !

Oh my gosh the best time was the n64 days!! ✨ I feel like I don’t even need away my Nintendo switch I feel like I always upgrade when the new console comes out and that’s always the best time or a few months after like six months after when all the glitches have been figured out, but I honestly honestly love my steam deck and don’t feel like I need to upgrade any of it. I just I think by when the new console comes out! I think I always prefer the steam deck just it seems really easy to use. I’ve not used the rog but it has got a lot of people. Saying it’s good

Now it's the ANBERNIC RG35XXSP Which is a clone of it for emulation. It's Bliss. The pocketability/weight being able to fit it into my jacket's pocket and play some Kirby on a waiting mission.

my 1st handheld console was the gameboy pocket i think. either that or the gamegear. i have the original gameboy advance, original ds, and the 2ds that you said looks like toast. lol i have the original switch too. when it comes to consoles i don't really upgrade unless it's next gen, unless it breaks and i have to replace it. and for emulators they say it's okay if you make copies of your own personal physical games and use them as the rom. but some people even say that's wrong. there's a lot of politics involved. i miss the days in the 90's and 2000's when it was as simple as going to a friend's house or the computer room at school and somebody just had them on their computer and we didn't have to worry about it. lol

Miyoo mini is just a handheld device it has the ability to emulate due to the Emulator applications on it. Emulation is only illegal if you pirate games online. That’s the illegal part getting the games Free online. Emulators themselves aren’t illegal.

GBA is my favorite handheld console, followed by the PSVita, then I would put the 3DS, then the DS although the reason I like the 3DS is that I can play DS games in it I don't consider the switch a handheld console, it is its own thing, a hybrid, it is my favorite Nintendo console since the GameCube but it is not even top 3 in the handheld

@@sunpi yes, honestly I don't know if I like the switch more than the gamecube, because the GameCube had a lot of amazing games while the switch has some of my favorite games ever but the variety is not that big, Odyssey is clearly better than Sunshine and BOTW and TOTK are better than Windwaker and Twilight Princess, but idk, gamecube had 2 metroid games, two pikmin games, chibi robo, resident evil, viewtiful joe, etc. the performance of said games was also way better, maybe the reason I didn't enjoy Bayonetta 3 that much although it is a great game and the GameCube had nothing like it
