The Netflix Series "My Happy Marriage" starts streaming worldwide from July 5, 2023!
Written by Akumi Agitogi and illustrated by Tsukiho Tsukioka, the massively popular Japanese-style romance light novel "My Happy Marriage" is published by Kadokawa on its Fujimi L Bunko imprint and has also been adapted into a manga by Rito Kohsaka. The series' popularity continues to rise, having garnered a massive buzz upon its release and selling 6.5 million books* to date. It also won several awards, including the Nationwide Bookstore Employees' Recommended Comics award of 2021 as well as BookLive's digital manga award. In addition to the animated version, a live-action film version is also in the works for this highly anticipated story.

I have red the novel, but never had the manga. It's absolutely beautiful. It's based on Japan in the 1915-1920 era. It's is relatable because it's about a girl learning to break free from abuse and learning to lover herself. It is truly a work of art.

@@verityv5284 no. the main character's family is abusive. her half sister is verbal abuse. the step mother burns everything that reminds the first wife and then fires any maidservent that shows sympathy or kindness to the main character. basecaily a narc family set up. one child is the golden child while the other the escape goat. the future-husband comes from the military, so he reconizes TBS, neglet and deep depression. he sees those signs in her, so he gives her help.

I appreciate how they rendered this anime and designed the characters; reminds me of the attractive character styles you see in Inuyasha (like Sesshomaru) and Rurouni Kenshin. Can't go wrong with hot and powerful male character lead like Kudo. Lots of female anime fans want this Japanese style of anime stories, attractive character design, and animation style. It's a formula of viewer success. Netflix team, if you're reading, pursue producing more Japanese anime stories and rendering anime is the animation style with hot male character designs (hint hint!).

I hope this anime gets an international trophy. This is truly a beautiful anime. During DV, this helped me a lot. Every week, I couldn't wait to watch the new episode. It was truly a blessing in disguise because I initially thought it was about a happy married couple's life that would make me smile and look forward to happiness I deserve, but it was completely different, and I could see/feel myself in the leading female's role as I developed a stronger and wiser over time. K watching it it's all well and good but the girl doesn't have a lick of agency. Even after her official engagement Kudo doesn't even think to tell her about the supernatural affairs or ask her what she wants to do in regards to managing it. This anime is all high praise but we can't forget that even the sad girl protagonists should still be allowed to make their own decisions, especially from the ones who are meant to treat her right.

One of the best anime I've seen since Blue Period I've rewatched the episodes multiple times a week because it's beautiful animated voiced and scripted (although I hope for a heinous downfall for the rest of the Saimori family for their abuse) thank goodness she didn't marry into the Tatsuishi family she would've been abused even worse by the elder brother
