My heart is breaking.

•Poor baby's Bilirubin (yes I kept saying “bellyrubin” in the videos!🤦🏼‍♀️) levels are high, so we may have to stay longer to see if they will come down.
•My heart is breaking because I know all she wants it to be held, but she has to sit under the light until her levels come down!!!
•It took a couple of days to finally decided on a name, but we did it! ✨Evelyn Mae Forsyth!!✨
•She is so loved and we can't wait to introduce her to Gideon and our family!!

The jaundice journey is tough, but hang in there! This will pass! Jaundice can cause babies to be very sleepy and being under the lights can be uncomfortable, both could be what’s contributing to the latching issues. Hang in there and rest when you can! Lots of love from this postpartum nurse!

Sending thoughts and prayers! My son had jaundice when he was first born. He was in the hospital for 6 days & his levels got so bad they had him prepped for a blood transfusion. I know how scary of a time this is! Just remember God is watching over her & you as well 💝

Evelyn has become a trendy name in the last few years. Evie for short is very cute as is Eve. Not sure about the Mae. Sounds like Bobby Jo, Peggy Sue, Billy Rae. Mae is a nice name just don’t like the sound with Evie. However parents can name children what they want and it’s a choice you hope the child will like as they grow older.

I went through that and more soon after birth, such that the first month of life was a comedy of errors, or a tragedy. From being delivered by a different doctor, to developing jaundice so bad at the hospital that light therapy didn't work, so I got the blood transfusion. I went home for a few days, but then at 10 days old contracted pneumonia, which turned out to be meningitis...so I spent a month in the hospital and ended up with 'mild' CP. #disability

Oh Joy and Austin! I totally feel your pain over the Jaundice and “light” therapy! My little Madeline had the same issue and she would cry as she wanted cuddles! They were such hard days as a first time mum! But those days pass eventually and you then have the rest of your lives together, the sun will come out after the storm passes xx
