I remember both of my grandparents. One passed before I was born, but my father’s mother lived with us for a while before she moved where her oldest son lived. My mother’s parents were both very much in my life until my grandpa died when I was nine. I have very fond memories of them and cherish those moments. Is it still a habit for the generation of grandparents to ignore their parents, ie, the great grandparents of the new generation? I’m feeling very lonely and not a part of my great grandchildren’s lives…I no longer drive because I can’t afford the car, insurance and gasoline and have money left for food, electricity and internet. Am I a bad person or influence on their lives? I can’t help but wonder why my adult children don’t make their children honor me as I was taught to honor my grandparents and their parents as well. I’m sorry for your loss. It sounds like you have a lot to be thankful for since you got to see her in what became her last days. Your children won’t remember her, they’re just too young, so it falls to you both to show and share photos and stories about her in your lives. Please teach your children to honor your time by not screaming at the top of their lungs when you are on the phone or recording a message to your followers. You can do it without being selfish. They have to learn to share you so it shouldn’t be a big deal. Not being critical Joy, just saying that children need guidance to become caring adults.❤️

I couldn’t have said this any better. My Nona passed October 2022. She took care of me most of my life and at one point when I needed it the most. I still feel so lost with out her and couldn’t put into words. A loss of childhood but a great reminder and remembrance as well. ❤

I remember the shock and then the grief when my paternal grandfather died. I'm sorry for your losses and I'm glad you got such happy memories for the last visit. My papa died March of 2020... Peacefully in his sleep. Thankfully he never dealt with this coronavirus stuff! As it was right before the initial shutdown.

Austin and Joy... I'm still reeling a bit from losing three siblings within the past three months. I just returned from being out of state for the last funeral. I'm telling you this because I could see in your eyes, while you were talking about your grandmother what people must be seeing in mine. It's a fine line between realizing that your loved one is with Jesus and being happy for them and feeling the void left by her passing. If you feel a strange mix of loss and peace, it's okay. We don't understand the Peace God brings us, but we rest in it. We have this in common: we will all be experiencing those "firsts" in the future. I'll be calling your family's name in prayer.

I wasn't so sure why until I remembered today is the sad anniversary of the day my brother met Jesus, when he was tragically murdered and taken from us. I dont always read comments, but I felt compelled to and your comment was the one I opened. I can surely see and feel why. So I just had to tell you that your way with words is so beautiful, you truly have a gift for it.
