Hard T is pronounced tee, while a soft T is like a T mixed with a D. Typically what I do is spend the first couple of episodes watching the intros and outros so I get to experience everything (the song, the animation for the song, and its lyrics). Then, I continue the rest of the anime skipping it because I already know it, until it changes and I redo the process. I think the only exception to my process recently was Mirai Nikki, because I loved the first song and the animation of the intro so much I couldn't get enough of it.
