Sooooo many sparty pants commenting here - "but you have cables that are plastic, your plant pots are plastic". Hem hem...single use plastic my darlings is what is being referred to here. Remember the giant problem we are having these days because so many people are using single use (99% of the time non-recyclable plastic) - yes - this is the problem. Having a fridge that lasts forever, having cables that last forever, reusing pots from small plants to big plants as they all grow is still not wasting plastic. it's using it non stop for a lifetime. Stop trying to be smart little kiddies and finding a way to not have to take responsibility in cutting down your own plastic waste. I see you clearly. I see what you're doing ;) Lots of love. Sorelle
@turquoiseblue294 жыл бұрын
Agree! But in many cases there are better choices than plastic, anything biodegradable, made from natural renewable resources or recyclable with low resources would be better. Ceramics for you plant pots for example 😊 If you must buy plastic buy it second hand otherwise you’re just adding to the demand for more. (Hands up I am nowhere near perfect either).
@chellebunderla20454 жыл бұрын
Well said! Reuse the plastic we have, not make more. Those cables can also be covered in plant based rubber over the metal wires. I agree; if everyone just starts by making a couple of changes... it all adds up to reduction in waste and reduction in emissions that contribute to global warming ✌️ Keep it up hun 🤙

your furniture has foam padding probably which is made of plastic and possibly has dangerous retardant chemicals in it. Also if your carpet is synthetic it is made from plastic. Also wall paints often are made from plastics. The funny thing about these videos is women opening their refrigerator and saying they are plastic free when the whole fridge is made from plastic.

Your refrigerator was empty requiring more electricity to cool it. Fill the fridge with jars of water and once cold, they will help keep the fridge cooler, running less. You will save electricity. Good channel.
@mplabs235 жыл бұрын
This won't save electricity. The energy put in to cool the jars of water in the beginning won't be regained in saved energy later, because of the imperfect efficiency of the fridge and cooling losses to the environment.

You should consider using a bidet in your bathroom. Helps clean your bum after using the restroom, that way you only use a small amount of toilet paper (mostly just to get the leftover water down there). It will be weird at first, but after a while, it will feel normal and you'll feel extra clean after using the restroom.
@SparlingAdventures5 жыл бұрын
Only problem with that is your'e using more water than normal as well :(
@sonipitts5 жыл бұрын
@@SparlingAdventures Still less than required to grow and manufacture the paper, by a long shot. Plus you can always move to using specially-identified cloth towels for the final drying (just be sure you wash them in hot water by themselves to kill germs). Also, depending on where they are in Australia, water conservation may not be an issue.
@Emmahahah5 жыл бұрын
Water gets recycled though, where as toilet paper sits in a landfill or gets converted to biowaste fertilizer which is another long process that takes up lots of water resources.

Sorelle likely means disposeable plastic because of course with all the gear, the appliances and everything else needed in products or home there's gonna be plastic. Congrats and enjoy! Simplicity makes having multiple home bases achievable and fullfilling for lots of good people! Builders in my area have been incorporating minimalist architecture more and more over the past decade and I cannot help feeling confused by it. Aesthetically, the houses look great but they're defeating the point by having 7 bedrooms, 10 full bathrooms, a pool and spa, a full dock with 2 lifts and a "piano" room. This video made me so so so HAPPY!!!! really! I love Everytime someone I care for or admire achieves something they wanted to achieve! Congratulations Sorelle! I would looove to see more minimalist/plastic free/houseplants videos I drool over this kind of content ❤ I love you keep up all the good and kind content you've always given us! And as a side note I started working fully digitally and internet based following a lot of your advice and recently became able to actually travel for the first time in my life, thank you Sorelle hope you know that you have been an important part of my personal journey ✨

You always make me smile. I wish you health and peace and happiness and energy and love for all the days to come. I am excited for more minimalist and plastic-free videos for sure! And also.... since you're such a plantlover: maybe a video about what plants need, how to take good care of them and which plants do well in shadow spots, which plants would do good in the bathroom... etc. I love plants too but I'm not an expert on how to take care of them and would love to hear about your experience :) Love from the Netherlands! Omg I love your house the floor plan is awesome and they way you put it together even tho it’s very minimalist it looks welcoming and cute !!! Love itttttt hope now that you have a place it gives you one less thing to stress about it’s hard being a full time traveler and not having a place to come back to that feels like home.
