I think the family meeting is a great idea not only does it put everyone on the same page but instills bonding, teaches the little ones by example as they see the older ones sitting and listening as well as participating appropriately.
@terristewart61194 жыл бұрын
I agree with what a great idea for the family meeting. Even for parents working outside the home, finding time in the day to institute this would be helpful. I especially like each person taking a few minutes to share what they are working on & prayer requests. Teaching them young! Love it!

I’m helping homeschool my 3rd grade grandson,Henry, cause his parents both work from home. I have to say that I have developed a hug appreciation for anyone who teaches children cause it is great fun but it is also hard work. Henry is so dedicated to his work but I’ve learned the importance of the 10 minute break and being flexible!! Big time. We schedule our school day to start at 8:15 so we can be done by lunchtime. Henry’s attention is so much better in the morning. We learned that the hard way. In the afternoon we work in the garden, he does some coding or Henry and Grandpa tromp through our woods looking and Identify critters. I never thought I would enjoy something so much. When the weather gets cold we will do some cooking or Henry wants to learn to sew for our afternoon activity. Or he will work on his nature journaling or painting.

You are doing an excellent job. Everything you mentioned is geared to his needs and education. That is exactly what homeschool is for. I homeschooled my daughter in 3rd grade. The curriculum expects so much from our children. It’s difficult and exhausting and I am so very proud of you.

Enjoyed the vlog Sarah, as always! I am encouraged and motivated to make improvements after watching your routine vlogs. I also like how you've said in previous vlogs to ask God for a solution when something isn't working well or needs improvement and He always comes through. I have followed your advice and I am pleased to share that I have received direction on how to handle some challenging situations, all glory and praise to God! Have an amazing weekend! Thank you for all you do, your channel is a blessing!

You are the one that I hear the best. Tori is the one that I hear best when speaking. The kids get shy when talking and they have soft voices so with my not so great hearing most of what they say is lost on me. I would hear them better if I was with them in person. I have been working on reading lips 👄 in order to hear people. So try not to overstress yourself. You are doing the best you can dear. Love you all!

I love the chaos in the background 🤣 I’m glad you show real life emotions/atmospheres, even if you don’t actually show the kids. It’s just such a relief to know that it’s really, “real life” in these videos. And it’s not all edited to see like a “perfect homeschool day”. Love it!
@OurTribeofMany4 жыл бұрын
LOL thanks for this comment. When I started editing, I realized I did not even film some kids because we were actually getting school done, which is an all-consuming task in itself. Add in an extra toddler...I wondered why I even bothered trying to film! It was true real life for sure. 😜. I’m glad you were able to appreciate that.

An hour of kindergarten curriculum seems like a lot and draining! I use Gather ‘Round and it’s covers enough to be well rounded, but takes up little time so my k kid isn’t running out of steam and I don’t have to spend time coercing focus. It’s a really fun christian curriculum!

Hi everyone. I've gone from mainly being bedridden to a full schedule not because I'm healed but because my Mum has just been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer so I need to look after her, clean the house, wash and cook (for me cooking is relaxing) for my Mum and Dad. I've lost a lot of weight when I was already under weight and struggling to eat enough because amongst other things I've had all but one metre of my intestine removed over time so I have to basically force-fed myself as my venous system has extensive clotting. Sorry about writing all that explanation just so I can say that I've learnt to keep Saturday and Sunday mainly empty so they are catch up days and I over fill my tasks each day from Monday to Friday. So I can relate when Sarah says that she will push through days as she knows that come Monday they have a family day off. I also have aspergers and I find it impossible to lie or exaggerate as to me it's lying my ommission. I hope that everyone is having an awesome day. Xx

Good morning Sarah, Happy Friday....The one thing I have learned is when you are working with children is flexibility!!!!! You are so right. I remember as a older toddler teacher, we would have a plan for what we wanted to do. But for whatever reason we would have to change it up. I think when teachers, moms, whoever work with children it's a must otherwise the child gets frustrated, you get frustrated and nothing gets accomplished. You let us in your life and so many can relate watching you. Thanks Sarah. Oh my goodness....that smile of Seth's just brightens the day. God bless. Have a wonderful weekend

We are similar with time off except we do 3 on and 1 off. I only have 2 kiddos but 2 weeks off at a time is to much for him and we fall out of routine and it’s hard to get back into. Flexibility is so important with homeschool it took me a while to learn that haha

I think they need a break from what we have been doing to try something new and I feel like it will be easier since I will be bringing in my 4th student next year with still 2 littles.
