And again: Me being a German citizen I still can’t get my head around on WHY ON EARTH you guys do have power lines and/or internet ABOVE ground 😮 I mean, this is a perfect recipe for disaster. It is really sad to see what you guys have to go through every time y‘all are hit by a hurricane. Keep safe and all the best from Germany 🇩🇪, Philipp
@proudpennsylvaniaman799624 күн бұрын
You underestimate the size of America. We do install services underground but in rural areas it makes no sense. Sink a pole. They have them rated for hurricanes.99% of the time there is no problem. We don't do a good enough job maintaining them so trees an don't get into them and swapping old poles. But it's not the problem you think it is
@5ShotProductions24 күн бұрын
@@proudpennsylvaniaman7996 Yeah, the size of the US is definitely a problem. The power system here in Germany is in parts also above ground, longer distances across woods for example do not need to be above ground but in every single city we do have power underground. In our village with only 400 people up to Berlin with 3.8 million people. It literally makes no sense at all to have the power lines and/or fiberglass cables for internet above ground. Why? If they are underground you‘ll probably never will have to face a power outage. And the houses here in Europe are mostly built with brick walls, so I won‘t have to fear that a storm will damage the house. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I love the US and I really like it there but some things are „weird“ to say the least 😉

Also people rebuild their houses in the same low places, and they'll get flooded again in the next big storm. My house is on top of a hill for a good reason.

Sad to see so much flooding in your hometown Bruce, I am in Apopka FL and a few of our intersections are still flooded over a week plus later after Milton. And it looks like it's gonna take awhile to that water recedes here as well as where you filmed this. I had to put some siding back on my mobile home and fix a hole of missing wall underneath it. There's good people here in Apopka and in my little mobile home community And everyone was helping everybody out, we lost power Wednesday night October 9th and got it back Sunday the thirteenth. I 🙏 for us all.

So you find out one of the electrical modules was getting splashed far more than it was engineered to handle leaving you stranded in the water where the cow manure forces you to mouth breath only. Or a sinkhole suddenly changes everything. Not good to submerge axles and beyond. If it's an expensive, expected to always run pickup, don't treat it like a UTV.

What the Hurricanes have done in the south is devastating. In the North East we get severe winter storms. But don't lose power, houses and etc. It is going to take a lot of $ and time for the South to get back to some type of normal life. The following comment is not meant to make light of anything. Your technical media team should have seen about adding short bits of Johnny Cash/ How high is the water mama. But maybe buying rights to use the song isn't in the budget 🤔

Yeah, I feel sorry for you, but has it ever occurred to you that driving around in this huge Diesel Pick up and your other Diesel Trucks may have a direct correlation to these outrages storms you guys had to cope with...? I mean, burning fossil fuels like Diesel, especially when "Straight Piped" with thick black toxic smoke coming from the exhaust pipe, does influence the climate in a bad way. And so the more you use fossil fuels (Diesel, gasoline, any fossil fuel) the more of this kind of extreme weather you guys will have to deal with. So I'd say, use all of your technically knowledge to start converting all Diesel engines to Hydrogen engines: The same fun, but no emissions from the exhaust pipe. Oh, and burning rubber by doing Burnouts also contributes to extreme weather conditions, these are emission gasses too after all! The General Rule here is: Is what you are doing producing smoke, then it is almost 100% guaranteed you're having a contribution to extreme weather. But this also goes for burning fossil fuels, which do not create smoke, obviously. It's about time you guys face reality and take responsibility for your actions. Yes, this weather is happening to you, but you're creating it yourself!
