I remember I had a teacher who use to be a priest and one day we went camping with the class and he promised us to tell us his scary stories about real exorcisms he had perform, we were all so excited for the creepy stories…. Turns out his “exorcism stories” were just him hate criming a bunch of gay and mentally ill teens until they had panics attacks/seizures. We were horrified but not for the right reasons. P.S he told us he left priesthood after “a calling from God”, turns out he left a woman pregnant and had to marry her. How is that for hypocrisy.

My school was not an actual Christian School but, the town I lived in was very religious. When I was in 5th grade all students had to take sex education. The boys went with a male teacher to one room and, all the girls went with a female teacher to another room. When the teacher showed all the girls the male reproductive system all the girls giggled except me who said it looked gross. The female teacher took note of this and wrote “Lesbian?” In my file 😂

Reminds me of when a dude in one of my psychology classes said "my boyfriend..." and before he could finish a group of girls were exclaiming like "oh Jesus", and acted very dramatic. That was only fourteen and a half years ago. Even with so much acceptance now, it's still a shame people haven't progressed much since then.

I was touched when you say that the prefect help these two girls by secretly allowing them to be together despite it wasn't her duty. She was risking herself to get in trouble so the girls can still be in love with each other and that is what I called FRIENDSHIP!!!!!❤

at my school my friend got in trouble for just asking the definition of a lesbian (she just curious what the word meant she wasn't making a dirty joke or nothing with that statement) usually my school is chill but that the only homophobic incident I can think of since it was a private school

It depends on what sect of Christianity and then varies by each church, but Christians are supposed to believe in "individual freedom". Like, Christianity was literally founded on the teachings of Jesus Christ and then they deemed the Bible as a sacred text and then started living by rules in it. But just back into the teachings of Christ, I have never seen anything that would oppose same-sex relationships. Even with all that, there are many versions of the Bible with slightly varying content changed to fit someone's narrative. But again, it all goes back to "individual freedom". That means as long as someone is not infringing upon the rights of another living being, mind your own business and treat others as you would have them treat you.

Unrelated but this is actually misinformation. You can't seperate the teachings of Christ in the new testament from the old testament. They haven't been strung together randomly, they complete eachother. The law (rules) in the old testament are meant to show us our sins (breaking of Gods law), and the coming of Christ fulfilled the law by being the payment for sin on the cross. As the debt has been paid, Jesus is the saviour (that iz what his name means). He has forgiven us and therefore we are not condemned if we accept him. Secondly, the teachings of Jesus have everything to do with the whole bible because the birth of Jesus was predicted and prophetic in the scripture. Christianity teaches that Jesus is God in the flesh. God made those rules, we messed up, and then he came down in the form of man (Jesus), to be the punishment so we could all be free on judgement day. Jesus taught us to turn the other cheek rather than eye for an eye BECAUSE he has paid for our sins himself and he is the only one who can judge us. I'm only responding to this because I see a lot of confusion about the teachings of the bible, you need to consider it and study it as a whole before you can be any authority or expert on it. Individual freedom (assuming you mean free will), indeed permits you to act as you choose, whether good or bad. But that fact alone doesn't make us innocent on judgement day, if that makes sense. He's given us free will, in the hopes we will be wise enough to choose eternal life with him and not death. I just shared this to clear up any misconceptions. Blessings to you.

I’m a few years older than you and live in the US, and there were only three or so kids I knew were lgbt in my school. In retrospect, I do think I’m an incredibly oblivious person, and there were probably way more. Lol but I was pretty deeply depressed and emo and mostly kept to myself. Most of my classmates didn’t care though. It was obviously still the time of rampant gay “jokes” but other than that most people left them alone. Then later I realized I was asexual, non-binary, and kinda into women, so the jokes on me for not realizing I was one of them. I remember being pretty open to possibly being bisexual even back then (then and even now, I honestly identify more with the “queer” label and don’t care much to define it any more) but being that I have little interest in dating and haven’t had a crush since I was around 13, I didn’t think about it much.

I'm not out to anyone yet that I'm a Lesbian but even i went to an all girls hr. Secondary school and my god...the teachers are just openly hating and homophobic.....its a catholic school so what can i expect..but i thought Christians are taught to love everyone and all.. One day my Psychology teacher was explaining us about a topic (types of love ig) and idk how but he got to the topic of lgbt and started insulting transgenders, calling them sinners abd also said same sex love is disgusting......he said all of that with pure disgust on his face ...i came home and cried so badly ...as though all of that was directed only towards me.....i hate that school...not just for this reason but also the fact that they don't give a shit about the education of students....the only thing i learnt was to mug up and vomit the answers on my paper....

my school has 99% of islamic teachers and all of them except my english teacher(my favourite teacher) were homophomic especially the ustad and ustazah(ofc its them) and during sex ed they would talk about the lgbtq community and saying "if one of your friends are lgbtq you should convince them to go see and ustad/ustazah or counselor to get them on the right path" and i was VERY offended by it as i am bi myself. me and my friend would just side eye the teacher every class. The thing is even my family is VERY homophobic and my mom had assumed i was a lesbian a few times warning me to"not get TOO close to my friends" and when i asked her why shed say "the friend ship would turn into a lesbian realtionship" yet i walk around the school holding my friends hand lmfao.
