@@skaboopydoopthedoop8711 and you won't ever have too much muscle, as long as you stay natural. Hypertrophy ain't a joke, and whenever I see people say "I don't wanna lift cause I don't wanna get too big", it makes me laugh at their delusion. You will NEVER get too big because it takes YEARS, even DECADES to put on huge amounts of muscle mass. Also, the more muscular you get the harder it is to get more muscular. This does not imply that there is a limit, because I believe there is no limit. But realistically, by the time you reach age 45 to 50, your physique will peak and will have to go down from there cause the machine that is your body is getting old. The "too bulky" meme is a meme, don't fall for it. Don't ever worry about being so bulky that you can't touch the middle of your back. If you train that motion, you will keep that motion regardless of how much more muscle you put on. Same with every single flexibility routine that you are scared of losing. I started by just choosing one exercise for each day, and honestly that was what helped me keep going. Even when I wasn't feeling like doing the routine I had built further down the road I always told myself "At least do that one exercise. Then you can move on." First and foremost it's about the habit and maintaining it, and often after doing that one exercise I was like "Screw it, I'll hit everything I was planning." Sometimes I wouldn't do everything though, and I was still happy because I at least maintained the habit.

For me the most important thing for muscle building was the realisation that you need to keep getting stronger on the main compound movements, (seems obvious) So many people are spinning their wheels in the gym lifting the exact same weights year in year out with no progression at all. A lot of people will be humbled if they google mens strength standards and find out they are lifting in the novice to intermediate numbers whilst training for years.

You're doing great. I like your sense of humor and you're relatable as well. I've tried to get into working out a couple of times but after 2-3 months I stopped every time. I didn't really see any results and I hate working out. I used the lack of results as just one excuse to give up each time but I also didn't change my diet, which I'm doing this time. I also got bumped to night shift where I work and can't do anything on my nights off other than sit on my computer at home because my wife and baby are sleeping so I decided to get back into working out, just at night now, so I don't feel like a bum at home.

I've attempted to establish a regular exercise routine many times before, but I often found myself burning out quickly because I started too intensely for my level. However, this time, I decided to begin with just 10 minutes of easy exercise daily. Surprisingly, I soon found joy in the activity and became "addicted" to this beneficial habit. After maintaining this routine for a few weeks, I gradually increased both the duration and intensity of my workouts. Now, three months in, I'm following a plan that involves exercising six days a week for 20 minutes with a moderate activity level, and I reserve the seventh day for lighter, recovery exercises. I've already started seeing results in both build and strength. My current goal is to work up to 45 minutes of intense exercise on most days, except for Saturdays when I aim for 40 minutes, and Sundays for 30 minutes at a very light intensity. Previously, I struggled to motivate myself to stay active, often defaulting to inactivity or only engaging in sporadic exercise. This is the first time I feel confident that my routine will be sustainable. I hope sharing this might inspire others as well! Remember to be reasonable and listen to your body. not wanting to workout and being lazy feels way different from your body showing concern and asking for a break.

And I finally hit the point where people start noticing it too and I really enjoy that. Thanks!

I think the word "eliminate" kinda deters people. The thought of eliminating your favorite unhealthy meal is hard for most to accept. People need to realize that they can still enjoy their favorite fast food every now and then, but the more they have it, the slower their progress will be.
@MoPoppins5 ай бұрын
It all comes down to opportunity costs. Whether it’s diet-related or anything else, we ultimately have to decide for ourselves whether the consequences are worth it. Eating fast food or junk food on a limited basis may not impact you in a way where your body punishes you for it-repetition & the bioaccumulation that results, really does make a difference. If you’re exercising regularly, there’s good blood flow & cell renewal occurring, so that fast food meal will be negligible in the long run. If however, your body reacts badly to certain foods (e.g., severe inflammation that manifests in various ways), you’re likely to develop food intolerances & chronic ailments that could lead to something severe (e.g., arthritis, cancer, psoriasis, etc.)-just give it enough time.
@shivamdahake4525 ай бұрын
The thing about 'moderation' is that it is subjective. People are addicted to their fast foods and moderation does not mean anything to an addict. That's why in most cases, quitting atleast temporarily, till the point where you are out of that loop of fast food addiction, is a better idea. And when you are out of that loop, you don't feel the need to go back in so you have essentially quit fast food. Although I would claim that fast food doesn't destroy your progress nearly as badly as alcohol does. There is no concept of 'moderation' in alcohol because it is DESIGNED to get you addicted and dependent, and it has ZERO upsides. Its liver toxic, it worsens your metabolism, it worsens your recovery, it delays your CNS recovery, it gives you headaches and upset stomachs, it messes with your gut flora, making normal food less effective and harder to digest, AND its highly addictive so you are in love with the poison that kills you. Alcohol is the material manifestation of stockholm syndrome, and you should just quit it entirely.

You're spot on with people going into training and working out with the wrong motivation and facing burnout and quitting, because they are like "I'm gonna get lean and jacked fast!", instead of focusing on the psychological and behavioral mindset and being tuned to making it a permanent lifestyle first, with smaller increments. Most co-workers, family, and friends - that started working out and quit. All went into it WAAAAAY to hard, faced burnout, was discouraged by slow progress - and quit. So many people go straight to workout splits where they go to the gym like 4-6 times a week instead of 3x week full body programs. And are like "I'm gonna jog 5km every day" instead of easing into it with like a 500-1000m jog a few times a week. Most people I know that succeeded in making it a permanent lifestyle, and got REAL RESULTS, were the ones who eased into it with small increasing steps. Focusing on consistancy and creating the habit and enjoying the process. The first 2 times I tried and failed to get into building muscle and getting lean I did this same mistake. When I succeeded it was because I was mindful to the fact it takes time, that you need to focus on consistency and making it a lifestyle habit first and foremost.

What I found, having tried many many often widely contrasting training modalities, is that ALL training regimens work when I eat like a maniac, NONE work when I do not eat like a maniac. Talking as a skinny hardgainer body type, here. So my main advice to young bucks who struggle to gain would be: go all-in on dirty bulks for maybe 3 months each year. I say 3 months in 12 because that’s probably realistic - you need to be eating a very uncomfortable, inconvenient and expensive amount of food to gain size, and it absolutely sucks. It requires a lot of motivation and sacrifice. So do it for a spell, then maintain (which is extremely easy training wise and you can eat like a normal person and easily trim off some of the excess fat that came along with your muscle gain), rinse and repeat forever. Because the training method matters wayyyyyy less than you think, you’re free to do whatever you enjoy the most, making it easy to have the all important consistency. I eventually came around to high frequency, high-ish volume, low-ish intensity being the best method in every possible aspect, but again, don’t sweat it, do your Mentzer sht if you must, it’s fine. Just EAT!

Lesson that I have learned in this video are: 1. Have a strong reason on why we want to chase this goal to push through tough times. 2. Add small tweaks on diet and workout and eventually it will get us jacked. 3. We only have limited time in a day so to efficiently reach our goal faster is to prioritize it more.

I think one thing that puts me off is actually my body changing lol. Cause once you start you can’t really go back. You will see changes and from then on your body is no longer what you are so used to. But at the same time I know that once you reach a certain age, it will be super hard to make those gains. So it really is like a commitment. However you’ll end up looking, that is who you are.

As a pioneering gym bro, I love seeing folks my age finally get into and support the hobby I've been doing since I've been a kid!

Here's a refreshing take on an evergreen subject. With well-performed dead-pan humour and yogurt! I couldn't help thinking that much of this content might be directed a little differently toward women. In my part of the world at least, not many women are acclimated to the environment of fitness. Maybe because they're afraid of Jamaican accents? Maybe they never wanted to dunk . . . .

Breakfast actually is the most important. If you can even eat it, cuz I know my nephews just physically couldn't eat early in the morning at some point. It just came back out the same way it came in about half an hour later. I noticed that if I have a proper breakfast - I don't want sweets throughout the day as much as usual. I prefer buckwheat to cereal tho :)
