There is a distinction though. I personally love easy games, but I also love depth and it depends based on my mood if I want something challenging or not. This game to me feels easy AND shallow. There are easy, casual games like Animal Crossing that filled with depth. Also games like PokePark seem to be more appealing to me because the concept was built from the ground up. 1 thing I’d change: Leave the wild encounters just like they are in this game, but battle them. When you knock them out, you can throw your pokeball. If it lands, it should catch, since the Pokémon has fainted and it shouldn’t be able to squirm around. You can throw the pokeball sooner too if you want, but it’ll be less likely to catch.

In those games, the Pokemon just stand there as well, and as a 3D animator I can say the models and animations are not as good as the ones in Let's Go. The only thing Battle Revolution does better is lighting.
@swagkirby34496 жыл бұрын
Truegreen7 Oh. I wasn’t talking about the models; I was talking about the way they move around. Poliwrath no longer exaggerates its strength by flexing, Meowth just stands there instead of happily jumping around, and Meditite doesn’t have that fun head-moving animation. Some of them keep their original animations (Drowzee, Grimer, Igglybuff, Cacnea to name a few). The one whose animation is actually better is Mr. Mime

Truegreen7 this conversation made me actually look up the idle and attack animations of the stadium and colosseum games and I understand it’s all subjective but those old animations definitely have... character is a way to put it. A lot of squash and stretch and appeal. Some of them may not be very canon, cloyster moving its spikes like arms and jynx just disappearing into a pile of clothes definitely are super non-canon and can effect ones view on the overall quality , but they definitely have a level of entertainment the main games don’t have even if they look very goofy and dumb. I really hope the Gen 8 Pokémon game really have Pokémon on the overworld just like this game (But being wild battles). For me is a step foward in the franchise since random encounters are kinda outdated in my opinion. I genually don't like random encounters in RPGs since has a time that became annoying. And one thing that I think is a negativity for me is the fact the customization is weak in this game, specially the clothes are basically color swaps and you can't (As far I know) put accessories in yourself as well.

I did not like the motion controls, especially using the joy cons when throwing a ball to the right or left because it would continuously keep registering my throw as going in the opposite direction (I threw overhand because they throw overhand in the main games too and also had my controller ready aimed at the screen before I pressed “Ready”), and I don’t want to feel the need to play handheld just for better mechanics when it should be just as simple no matter the controller unless you use the Pokeball+ since you are paying for it which I haven’t tried. Also the Ride Pokemon options are very limited and almost all the Ride Pokémon are Pokémon I personally would never use or just don’t like. Only ones I like are Dodrio and Rhydon really. Also it was way too easy to overlevel in these games in my experience, I was just doing the normal story and finishing all the side quests of catching like 70 Pokémon for example and such. I do love that they brought Archer back into the games.

Loved the Video, 7. I never wish to push my opinion on any one and I hate conflict. That being said: I am a little disappointed that so many people disliked S/M for making big changes and shaking things up but praised LGE/LGP for doing the same. I personally loved not having gyms, no HMs, and the Rotom-dex. The new encounter system and catching mechanic seem like WAY bigger changes. Idk. Just my thoughts.

do you have any opinions on the price of the game? Over here in Canada it’s 80$, like all AAA games are now. do you think being on the switch justifies the higher price from 45-50$, what pokemon games have always been over here

The bland region and only having the first generation Pokemon is what made the game felt very boring after the 6th badge. By the time I got the ability to surf I started avoiding trainer battles entirely due to knowing they would have stuff I've already battled 4 times before. Heck, I battled all the trainers in Lavender Tower, it was like 12 trainers and they only used 2 Pokemon, Haunter and Ghastly. The game REALLY could have used a wider roster and battling got extremely stale quickly. Turning off battle animations just to get the uninteresting battle done faster. Another thing I didn't enjoy was the game trying to make Eevee/Pikachu as cute yet, smart and strong as possible was so God damn cheesy. I wouldn't have minded it if I actually liked Eevee, but I was never a fan of Pikachu or Eevee. The cut scenes with them just bored me, wishing I could evolve my Eevee, instead of enjoying my Eevee. I ditched my Eevee in my box because I just extremely uninterested in it. I also wasn't a fan of the aesthetics they chose. Generation 6 chibi style wasn't appealing to me, I much preferred generation 7 style. The region is definitely very boring and bland. If the game didn't get rid of wild encounters, I'd put this game as one of the worst Pokemon games, an even worse remake of FireRed/LeafGreen. But having that feature alone, being able to avoid battles and run around encountering Pokemon you see? YES! I honestly didn't think I would enjoy that as much as I did. ________________ The problems with this game can be summarized with three words, 'It's generation 1' all the designs (good or bad) Pokemon Red/Blue has, this game has. I'd give a score of Pokemon Red or Blue out of 10, whatever your score on those games will perfectly mimic your score on Let's Go.
@WaterKirby19946 жыл бұрын
I preferred the Gen6 aesthetic look over Gen7 personally. Although I have many of the same complaints as you, we should have gotten the ability to go to Johto or Sevii Islands for the Post Game. I was pissed that it was just a downsized Kanto (have you seen how small the routes & cities feel?) why couldn't Saffron have been a city the size of Castelia or Anistar? Kanto in Let's Go is just pathetic for a region that's supposed to contain Tokyo. I thought Eevee was supposed to evolve through Friendship into Umbreon & Espeon! What about Pokemon like Togepi & Marill that were heavily promoted during Gen1? Face it we were just given inferior games for Triple the price of FireRed & LeafGreen, Let's Go was nothing more than a cashgrab!
@ZodiacMeteor6 жыл бұрын
@@WaterKirby1994 I wouldn't call it a cash grab, it's more along the lines of experiment. Adding Pokemon Go cross play was completely pointless, it did nothing for the game. But having Pokemon wonder around in the open world was great! Too bad that open world was also the very small and aged Gen 1. It tried so many new things, at the same time, kept designs that is 20 years old. So you got this mess of new ideas mixed with old design for a very mediocre game. Fence maze? Teleport puzzles? Slide puzzles? Those are excusable on the Game Boy limitations, seeing it in HD just makes it look and feel stupid. Hell, look at RE2 remake, it's basically an entire new game and plays differently, yet, it's freaking amazing! This was Pokemon playing safe and not taking risks, while experimenting with new designs, two ideas that do not mix well.

So my six-year old brother is kind of into Pokémon. He has Pokken Tourament XD and a couple figures (Palkia and one I can’t remember). He likes to play Pokémon Go on my phone when I come to visit, even though you need to walk outside for Pokémon to appear more often which causes him to become bored of it. My question is, do you (or anyone viewing this comment for that matter) think this game is suitable for a six-year old? He doesn’t understand type advantages and doesn’t know anything about traditional Pokémon gameplay, which is teachable, but I don’t live there anymore and I’m afraid he might get bored of it or frustrated because he keeps losing because he’s either using ineffective moves or just not battling properly. On the other hand, I have heard this game is much easier than previous games and a wonderful introduction for new trainers. It’s either this or Mario Kart 8 for Christmas lol. Any feedback would be great!

I am a fifteen year old high schooler, I started playing pokemon in generation 2 on the gameboy advanced sp, when i was 6. When I started I didnt know a lot about it either. Years later probably 9 I learned all pokemon and their types. By 12 years old I looked at abilities of pokemon. And now I'm fifteen, in competitive battling and shiny hunting. It takes time but eventually you will know all the pokemon names and typings and abilities. I do not reccomend Let's Go or regular Pokemon games since they are not main series pokemon games. I reccomend getting him a 3ds, if he doesn't have one, and getting him pokemon x and y, since it mostly walks you through the game and he should enjoy it. NOTE: if he needs help learn more about the game so you can teach him as my grandfather tought me. Pokemon x and y are great graphics, I do not reccomend putting on the 3d for him yet as it could damage his eyes. Also when he is done with pokemon x and y, he could go on to other games in the main series. Thank you for hearing what I have to say and I hope your son will enjoy the game and the time he gets to spend with you . Bye!

I enjoyed this video. However, I don't know if you used the Pokeball Plus, I heard it had a way better gyro than the Joycons. For example, when I grinded exp by combo catching chansey, I used the Joycon grip, meaning both joycons were moved identical relatively to their 0 position wich I set at the exact same time, yet sometimes the Pokeballs would stil fly in completely different directions and sometimes even just one was thrown. I think this is more the fault of the Joycons suboptimal gyro, yet it pretty much proofs that the motion controls are indeed not ideal in this game despite what you experienced.
@PhantomHivemind6 жыл бұрын
I really liked this game even though it was more of a casual game compared to the other ones. The motion controls were somewhat of a nuisance but it was better with the Pokeball accessory but my preferred method was undocked and using the gyroscope that was perfect for catching Pokémon (at least to me). I just had an overall fun time with this game for the first time in a long time. I actually went out and searched for all the mons, got a complete living decision and also caught my first shiny in this game (I have about 8 different shinies). The Pokémon in the overworld made me tear up because it was something that I wished for since the first time I played a Pokémon game. I did not like the rival character as he was just a bad character to talk to and battle with. Everytime he popped up I just groaned and tried to get through it as fast as possible. I was hoping that Blue was my rival or at least play as him because he is awesome (in my opinion) and I’m glad he was involved in the games somehow. I wish there was an option to change the difficulty as it is a bit easy but not too much so that it took away from my enjoyment of the game, just to give people an option to change it for more of a challenge. For the next games I hope there isn’t any trade to evolve Pokémon as I found it super annoying to find a person to trade with and trade my Mons to evolve or at least include a way to evolve in game like with a CPU in game like with the Alolan Pokémon trade, that would be amazing and they can trade it back to you because “it wasn’t what they wanted” (because it evolved lol) so they trade it back to you, just a thought. Overall I enjoyed playing this game and I’m looking forward to Gen 8 and also the next installment of the Let’s go series. Or at least a remake of Sinnoh lol Come Game Freak lol

Kudos for you for showing me another way of playing this game. While i think its good to try something new but failing, instead of never trying, the coop mode seemed so badly implemented for me, i probably wouldnt even have gotten the idea that i can just switch my team whenever doing this. Same with your second team suggestion. When i've seen these facts and then watched replays in where the same trainers from pokemon yellow had lvl 3 pokemon compared to lvl 9 in the old one, WHILE being forced to exp share, it was already kinda done for me.

From my experience as someone who only got until half of the game with 4 badges, with the 5th coming soon, my only biggest complain about the game is how similar is to the first games in the sence of how basic there are. Not only you have only 151 Pokémon (Again... Why we can't have the Kanto's evolutions at least? I want a Bellossom...) but also there is no held items, abilities, day-night cycle, even some Pokémon lost great moves like Arcanine and its Flare Blitz. Also I heard it lacks a lot of postgame, apart of getting Mewtwo and defeating those 151 "masters" or whatever there are called there is nothing else, at least Fire Red and Green Leaf had the Sevii Islands and their 2d Gen wild Pokémon, it was something. There are good games? Yes. There are good Pokémon games? Not as much as the main line games, that's for sure. But I least I still having fun, not every good game needs to be a master piece. PS: About the motion controls I think the issue with them is there is no way to now where the Pokeball is gonna land, in games like Wii Sports not only have a small bar saying how hard you gonna hit but also you can "feel" said force. If they added a least a "signing point" of where you throwing it wouldn't be a big issue.

One thing that I like about this game is that none of the other pokemon games have, is sizes. It makes them more special. For example, I caught a extra large Dewgong, that I called Elephantseal. It was 8'7 instead of 5'7. I would just imagine standing by this beautiful giant, and I made a strong connection to it. I also caught a blastoise, that is 3'7 which is really hilarious to think about. I also had a extra large fearow, which is about the average size of a female, instead of 3'10 and weighting 80 pounds (something like that). Also, this is the only game where you can get a 7ft tall charizard.

When I first played Pokémon Blue years ago, I always wondered, why does the trainer always throw the pokeball at the Pokémon perfectly ever time? Why isn’t there a little mini game-type thing where you catch Pokémon? Then Pokémon Go came out, and I wanted the catching mechanics in the Core games. Then this game came out. I was amazed. I hope the catching mechanics make it to the gen 8 games, but I hope they still keep wild battles.

About throwing the Pokeballs: You don't have to point the controller/ball at the screen before going into the "throwing" mode - you can totally aim completely away from the screen and still hit every pokemon. You simply have to understand what the game defines as the "neutral" positin when you activate the throwing. It's basically like the gyro puzzles in Breath of the Wild. People complained about them because they were a complete "mess", because they didn't understand the mechanics behind it and didn't care to get used to it. When i'm in bed i have my switch in a tablet holder next to my bed and i hold the Joy Con/PokeBall Plus in my hand and i don't even point anywhere near the screen when catching Pokemon and it still works totally fine. ps: Also updating your Joy Con and PokeBall Plus could help.

Well, if the legendaries do have time limits then they may be interesting encounters. I have to say that you were able to make me want to play the game, although not enough to pay the full price. It does seem to be a good spin off. I personally wouldn't be able to play it well because I use abilities and held items a lot, and I mean a lot. It allows me to make weird things that make my Pokémon feel more unique and bond more with them. I like that aspect of competition with the Pokémon to bond with them, I love it so much that I usually have a secundary team for contest in the games where there are contests. I hope they make a comeback in gen 8 as I loved those and maybe get a little bit more attention (or to make a game based around them completely). I also don't like the Kanto Pokémon (in general) so the fact that I'm not able to use them is a big drawback, I was expecting an expanded Pokédex, after all. They are just overall boring to see only them time and time again, I'm really bored of gen 1 Pokémon.

IMHO Gen 8 should take a few things from Go. Throwing a ball like this when catching could easily be implemented in wild battles. Instead of pressing the button, you can throw the ball and influence your catch chance in an extra way (next to lowering your target's health/status effects). Same with Pokémon being visible in the Overworld (ar at least 'appearing' when you enter a patch of grass/cave etc). Things like that I would *love* to see that implemented in Gen 8. I'd even say it'd be a game changer for me.
