I have a BA degree from a good university. 6+ years of corporate experience. A father who is a COO of a big company with many connections. I was fired unfairly from my corporate job in April and I'm still unemployed I can't even get hired at UPS to move packages. No interviews. May we all make it through this.

Ken, I like your content usually, but you are very out of touch with reality right now. Many companies are laying people off. It's difficult to get hired. The jobs report numbers were just revised down by over 800k. I was laid off several months ago and it has been difficult in an "in demand STEM career field," with experience, certifications and degree. I'd really like to see you bring on recently laid off workers and tell them how great the economy and job market is doing... There's been hundreds of big companies announcing major layoffs in 2024 and it will probably continue into 2025. This is largely because of high interest rates and the federal reserve stating that they want high unemployment... because they think it will lower inflation.

Largely depends on location and industry. AI is set to massively disrupt more jobs than many expect as well.

@@kld1068 I lived through 2008 recession this is a recession and it is going to get worse when the lost of jobs hit in full swing by Christmas/new year. You can cling to the definition and the false numbers this inept government is giving you. But the truth is that a recession is here and ramping up

Job market is changing. More blue collar work, more hands on work, more A.I. work. If you have the skills and/or work ethic in demand you should be ok, and should see good pay. Unemployment rate of 4.2% is back at early 2018 levels. I changed jobs 2 times last 2 years. Better work, more pay, more freedom.

There's no such thing as an economy where "I'm gonna walk before I find something different" is a good idea. Sure if you are like in danger of harassment, but not if I'm just tired of my job. Or if you just have the money I guess the world is your oyster.

I have hinted, discussed, flat out stated that I am not happy, here is why and what I would like to do about it to my direct manager. Not one peep at all toward retention. Nothing. So yeah, I stuck through the great resignation like an idiot but now I am looking.

Ken always sounds so happy about the economy when it's doing bad. "The Great Resignation is over!" "No more quiet quitting!" This clown wants everyone to work in jobs they hate and enjoys watching middle America suffer from burnout.

Wages are only able to decrease when the supply outpaces the demand. Flooding the job market with H-1B, H-4 and F-1/OPT, coupled with little to no oversight by USCIS has created a steady pipeline of low-cost labor. USCIS isn't enforcing Federal Regulations like 20 CFR 655.738. Companies are openly lying on the LCA, claiming they are needing a "specialty occupation" and can't find an American worker, despite thousands of Americans applying for the position...if they legitimately posted it.
