I’m disgusted, and I feel like he’s been given way too much slack here. Unfortunately child predators are able to disguise themselves very effectively to avoid detection. There is a man named Gerald Bain who sadistically sexually abused his son for YEARS and the son was never believed by anyone until he was around 11. He went to his mom multiple times and was not listened to, the father was an extremely manipulative person who was able to fool everyone. That mother needs to RUN as far away from this man as she can and NEVER leave her daughter alone with him, EVER.

My Ex told everyone who would listen that he couldn't wait to be a Dad again because he didn't see his eldest. On the second night home from the hospital, we both woke up to her crying, and so I asked him to hold her while I cooled her bottle. I walked in on him screaming at her to stfu and about to punch her in the face. The baby and I slept downstairs from then on. I couldn't trust him anymore, and later found out he'd been smoking crack all day every day while he was out with his friends. We moved out shortly after, and he only spent time with her with me there. He'd shown he couldn't be trusted to keep her safe

I would record my baby monitor on my phone. I would hide a camera in the bathroom during the bath time, and in the baby room. Make sure he isn't harming that baby. Then, I would file for divorce immediately.

One day I caught my sons dad hitting our 3 month old son on his head through the baby cam. Idk if it’s cause we were so sleep deprived or what but it started like this, It was his turn to get up at night for him and feed him. I heard him get up but then I heard that he dropped the baby but inside his crib as he was picking him up. The baby started crying so I freaked out and got up to help. I put the baby back to sleep but the next day when I was about to shower, I wanted to see how everything happened. Something was telling me to look at the baby monitor footage Before he accidentally dropped our baby, I can see him waking up, going up to his crib and smacking him in the head. Then I saw him coming back and fixing his blanket that he was wrapped around with, and being rough with him he picked him up and kinda slammed him against his crib. The baby obviously was getting fussy and started whining and that’s when he tried to pick him up and accidentally dropped him. That’s when I saw me getting up to help. I was so horrified by what I was seeing. I remember feeling like my world was ending because this is the man that I chose to have my babies with I was in complete shock. I felt my blood boiling at the same time I was shaking. That night My mom was in the living room when I saw the video and I went up to her and showed her. She was horrified as well. I ended up talking to him and we ended up splitting now he doesn’t get to see our son unless he is supervised by one of his family members..

She needs to get video in there, if only to exclude the possibility that it's picking up frequency from another house, and definitely to determine he's n9t physically harming her, and aslo needing proof for revocation of parental rights/custody. And I like Matt's idea of filming herself too. Even if the baby can't understand the words, she can feel the intent. I would tell a family member, have them order a host of hidden cameras overnight delivery, have another family member take him out for a full guy day and have everything installed while he's gone. Have the family member monitor and host the footage.

I feel bad for for the mother because this is a point when you realize your life you had was probably not the reality that you thought. This man is a danger and she never realized it until now. The only way it's even justifiable for a father to be resentful of a newborn is if he had concrete evidence that the child was not his. At that point you pack up and leave and not take your problems out on a defenseless baby.

Not necessarily--he may be ashamed of his intrusive thoughts, so he puts in an extra effort to hide them from others. That's pretty typical human behavior. we cannot determine whether he is a psycho or just needs medical intervention from the facts given here alone.

What? how can this happen. Honestly she needs to think smart and let emotions in the back seat for a little. First she needs a lawyer ASAP, then she needs to let him do his things and record the verbal abuse. This way with a good lawyer the court will not grant him shared custody, more like visitation rights. Then you need to leave ASAP there is something SO WRONG with him. Another possibility is that he has OCD. obsessive intrusive thoughts forcing him to say these words under his breath. I know from experience when I’m compulsed to say something absolutely horrible it’s said in an emotionless way because it’s not how I feel at all, and it’s simply the cycle of OCD to cause the relief.

Sadly this sounds like Post Partum Depression, which is a syndrome that can occur in both men and women. There are mothers who, after giving birth, want to throw their baby out of the window, or feel extreme rage and hatred towards their child. Sometimes they have to be briefly separated from the child and go through in-patient therapy. These angry impulses are more like intrusive thoughts, that true hatred or a threat towards violence, though I suppose there is always an intrinsic risk of it going there. I kind of feel bad for this father...it sounds like he's mentally struggling but is being demonized by people. The mother should gently confront her husband and ask him about seeking medical help--I don't think we can just assume with no further evidence that he's just a "psycho."

Thing about postpartum is it doesn't give you a lack of self awareness, you can be in denial yes, but you are aware of what you're doing. yes, this man may need help, but there is absolutely no reason to defend his behaviour because he might need help. Because baby Maddox was his mini me, she was only one, if you don’t know what he did trigger warning if you look it up, think what he did, is making me break down, I have a one year old, when she falls and hurts herself she cries, and looks at me, holding her arms up, when I hold her, she holds on to me, just to think what happened to baby Maddox makes me sick. Guess what baby’s Maddox mom said, she didn’t think he was capable of this, she trusted him with her, her loved her! He did everything with and for her. There isn’t time to figure out why, he’s acting this way, she needs to get herself and baby out of there.
