As an adult with ADHD, I related way too much with this video. I’m also getting ready for Thanksgiving company and so far I have deep organized our junk drawer, cleaned under the kitchen sink, and organized the pantry. The important things. Have I mopped? Dusted? Cleaned the toilet? Nope. I meant to yesterday and ended up in the pantry 🤷🏼‍♀️

OMG! All these years I thought I was the only wife experiencing this kind of ‘help’ from her husband when prepping for guests😂 My husband is always so proud that the lawn looks great, or the cars are washed, or the basement is clean, or he finally glued that thing he had been meaning to glue forever…you know, all the important things that guests really care about when coming for a holiday dinner! You guys are hilarious! Have a great Thanksgiving!

This is very common, ADHD is hereditary. Also, 40% of women with ADHD also have PMDD. A couple of great books to read or listen to: "A Radical Guide For Women With ADHD" By. Dr. Sari Solden and Dr. Michelle Frank. "Your Brain's Not Broken" By. Dr. Tamara Rosier "Adhd 2.0" By. Dr. Edward M. Hallowell and Dr. John J. Ratey. 2 incredible KZbin channels: * How to ADHD * ADHD love You're not alone, I promise you. I'm 46 mom, and all 3 of my kids have ADHD. I myself have become an ADHD coach.

There is no such thing as ADHD. It's one of many invented "syndromes" that the pharmaceutical-industrial complex has invented to sell more drugs to people who don't need them. Human beings are all very different. We all have different brains. That is a good thing. Not being able to sit and do mundane tasks for hours on end is not "abnormal." In fact, it's totally normal. People who CAN are abnormal. Everyone in the world thinks they have ADHD. It is ridiculous and bad for society.

I thought my husband was the only one who cleaned weird stuff when his family was about to visit! All of a sudden he’d make the bed, which we don’t usually do since we’re lazy that way, as if his family would be coming upstairs to inspect, or he’d clean the garage. I was always left to do the stuff his family would see, like the bathroom, the kitchen, the main living area!

Totally a dad thing. My father decided on Thanksgiving/Christmas day to do the following. 1. Fix the toilet by removing said toilet (the only one in the house) with 20 people expected for the day. 2.Burn leaves (this is the country) by creating 15 piles of leaves in the driveway, lighting them on fire, leaving no one a spot to park their cars. 3. Clean the porch by repainting it so no one could use that entrance/exit. That was our main way to get into the house. We had to move the Christmas tree from in front of our only other door. Happy Holidays to everyone!!!!

Well...because you have to put all that extra Stuff From Moving into the storage space under the stairs, and before you put stuff into it, you have to vacuum it because once the stuff is in there, who KNOWS when the stuff will ever come OUT again, and so it'll NEVER get vacuumed if you don't do it BEFORE the stuff originally goes INTO the storage space!

I'm in my mid 60's and just now in the process of being formally diagnosed with ADHD (going through the process) so I still have all the how-to ADHD classes to do (so far, just watching ADHD how-to videos on KZbin) I am ecstatic every time I actually get a project completely done - like having an empty dishless sink, or empty laundry baskets and no clothes on the bed or couch. I recently (July 23) moved and am still only halfway unpacked. It feels so good to empty a complete box with the items where their new spot is. I honestly don't know how anybody with ADHD keeps their house clean.

1000% relatable! Must be why my mother in law lovingly “shared” this to my Messenger page 2 days ago. Perhaps she recognized me here😉 …It’s EVERY SINGLE TIME our family comes to stay with us…no matter how many weeks or months in advance I know about their planned visit. I’d call the last minute energy rush a super power…IF my energy could just be targeted for the areas everyone else would deem priority prep for incoming guests.

ADHD doesn't go away. There are treatments and strategies to handle it better, but there is no cure for it. If you had it growing up, you still do. If you don't have it now, you were misdiagnosed as a kid. My guess (total guess without knowing anything about you) is that you probably still have it, you've just gotten better at handling it.

Some people here are commenting on how Kim is making fun of ADHD and I really do not agree. I feel that a lot of neurotypical people also get distracted while getting ready for a big event. Sometimes I will take on projects just to avoid doing the things that actually have to get done. Suddenly other things seem more important. It's weird. But I think it is a natural tendency for a lot of people - especially if you have cool tools in the garage like pressure washers and leaf blowers.

My 72yo dad throws away everything not being used regularly unless it is car parts he is saving for when his 40+yo car breaks. He also loves to pressure wash the driveway and does best when given a list. He tried to throw away engraved silver cufflinks my mom gave him on their wedding day because he never uses them. My mom knows him well enough to not be offended. It's a wonder to me that she has maintained her sanity.

He also has an uncanny ability to memorize streets and landmarks, never gets lost while driving and has some seriously high anxiety about driving in traffic and being late.

YES. My husband has ADHD and literally is incapable of doing any necessary task until the last possible second when it’s the most inconvenient time possible. 🤦🏼‍♀️

You nailed it! My husband always spent the day on the lawn when we had a dinner party after dark and NOBODY would even see it….god forbid he just asked “honey, what can I do to help?”

This was 100% a spontaneous rant that turned into a vid. I felt like I could see my wife snapping and doing this exactly.

Kim, your kids will probably want a new glider chair when they have kids. But I also like physical photos! I did go through most of them with my daughter a year ago & we kept the one's she wanted. We put them into 4 separate photo albums: Summer, Fall, Winter & Spring.

As much space as they take, I prefer physical photos that can be held and passed down. Heaven help my future children! 😂

My husband generally likes to clean and organize the garage when company is coming over. It was fine when we had a 8x12 shed. Okay when we had a 2 car x car garage. Not okay now that we have an 8800sq foot warehouse. LOL

We had company over last night. I felt compelled to water plants and reorganize the random wires drawer while getting the house in shape. I considered touching up our painted cabinets but they were set to arrive in 15 minutes. I'll be doing that tonight! Ha!!!
