If someone says that their love language is "acts of service," that means that the best way they understand someone is showing they love them is when an act of service is done for them. It's the same thing if someone's love language is words of affirmation. It means that when someone else says what they mean to them, it penetrates more than if someone were to give them a gift. So, in an alternate universe situation, it could have been a reasonable thing that because the wife wasn't dressing up and making as complicated meals, that the husband felt less loved because he saw less effort going into it. People actually spend *a lot more* than that on PC gaming setups. Yes, to most people (including me), that's a huge amount of money, but for a high-end gaming setup, it's actually a reasonable spend. Also, it should last OP for several years at least. All she'll need to pay for, to continue to enjoy her hobby, is the games themselves, and there are plenty of ways to do that pretty cheaply. If you add up what most hobbies cost over the course of several years, it isn't that ridiculous a sum.

I am actually someone who IS an older virgin (Ace and religious), but I imagine it's pretty rare for someone to hold onto their virginity for that long only to give it up to a guy who's married to someone else. Like, staying a virgin for that long would have been a choice for her, and if that was a choice she was making, she would choose not to bone a married man.
