Daniel should never be married, even after divorcing Mia. He can't be relied on. He devastated Mia and wore her love down. As for Mia, she is at peace now, being away from Daniel and her family. They disappointed her too much. Maybe Mia just needs to have a pet and/or adopt a child to feel love again. Everyone has made her suffer and humiliated her too much, so she may be too scarred to love again, but a pet and/or a child would help her find love again and she wouldn't need to fear rejection and abandonment again. Daniel should just rot in the hell he made. I'm glad life is reminding him what a loser he is and how he let his own wife down to give up. Lily can rot as well. I hope both of those two losers never reincarnate or at least never appear in Mia's next life.

She said Alex wasn’t even really a friend so why would he have her address or know what city she lives in? He never visited her or contacted her. He started openly dating not long after even though he said he’d wait for her. So why get back with him at all.

The part where Mia told Daniel she rather trade places with Lily because Lily could die without restraint while she keep trying to take her own life but failed was so heartbreaking. This isn't a typical story where the fl loves the guy unconditionally and suffered for years cos of it. She seems rather passive and was happy to let go. She barely even loved life. This is heartbreaking.

Does Daniel have some kind of hero complex where only he can be the hero of the story? Why did he have to be the only one to be able to concern themself with Lily and her state now that he was married to Mia? I enjoyed the story as depressing as it was, but it was definitely unusual. Mia isn't someone to pity and yet people claim she is pitiable. Mia... don't think you can't love anymore. There is always someone out there that is looking to do right. Don't push them away just because of your rough life. You are a gem.
