@@Josh-vc8lr No I got that by taking the total cost of the vehicle plus charging cost divided by the miles. I used to do cost analysis comparisons between the two for my old job and have years of experience. The technology is getting better and cheaper, but even a very cheap electric bicycle usually runs at least a dollar a mile the first year. The superior cost effectiveness of a gasoline powered vehicle happens in many different ways, for example batteries go bad with age even if they are not cycled or used as much the replacement factor stays constant, but by not using a gas powered vehicle as much actually saves money.

Money doesn’t grow on tree. He who doesn’t work does not eat .But making Money more than average does not make you smarter either. Dave’s point in all of this is that he is making poor and dumb choices thinking we MUST NEED ABSOLUTELY a Tesla bc of what is happening in the world. Seriously 🤷🏻♂️. Even if he could afford it , even I could afford or anyone could. But Daves point is that you don’t need a $60k car like if it’s a life or death situation. With this I hope you don’t say now how is he poor? 🤦🏻♂️ again point exactly .

I bought a used tesla S for under 35k and I love it. I did save a ton of money because of free charging no maintenance and insurance. They make 155k so they can sell one of the prius and still easily afford a used tesla especially if it isn't an x.

The only thing wrong with driving a Prius is that it's the old school unsexy equivalent of driving a Checker Cab. They run over 300K with minimal maintenance. I told a Chicago cab driver that I drove a Prius just like his and he confirmed my numbers. Tough cars that can survive Chicago cab service. Financially a smart choice. Keep the Prii.

(45000 dollars/$3.15gal)=14285 gallons of fuel, at a low 45mpg, that's 642,825 miles of driving on gas if you never paid a dime for electric to break even, and assumed no maintenance for either. Considering the Tesla track record and the Prius, I think the Prius would still win that bit.

It goes the same for buying a regular car or hybrid rid that gets better gas mileage. The amount you save in gas, new payment, new interest will never be found in the life of the vehicle. Trading across is one thing, but selling your car that gets 28 for one that gets 40 but you also pay 500 a mo for it... explain that math.

About 85% of all new cars that came on the road have been financed/leased. And among used cars it's around 70% that is financed. Let that sink in for a moment. When you look around you, the majority of the newer cars you see, have been financed/leased.

VW ID.4 and Tesla aren’t the only options. The Mustang Mach-e is priced right between the ID.4 and the Tesla Model Y. And, Dave, with State and Federal incentives the cost of the ID.4 or a Mach-e is pretty close to what you’d pay for any other new gas powered SUV...

Banks used to provide free checks and now you have to pay $1 for just three blank checks. This is due to the declining use of paper checks. It makes it unprofitable for the bank. The declining use of gas will cause the price to rise as well, if it becomes unprofitable to invest and run refineries.

People who spend years in school learning skills in order to obtain monetary status can obviously delay gratification. Purchasing expensive technology in infant stages such as a Tesla which requires a licensed technician to perform maintenance, depreciates the moment it's driven is another endless debt. And to top it off, he asked for permission instead of forgiveness, no man who has his house in order does this.
