I've just completed my kitchen. I must say I was a bit overwhelmed by all of the boxes but when I began assembly, that went out of the window. Once you get the first couple done, it's all gravy. I agree with everything you've mention in this video. I couldn't be more happier with the outcome. And the cost...unbeaten!

That’s it’s I’m putting my cabinets on top of the floor. (I think) 😛 The logic that my floating luxury vinyl flooring would have issue doesn’t seem true to me. How are your floors holding up?

They holding up great! It’s been almost a year since I’ve installed flooring, and I did not find any issues. I would check with the flooring manufacturer instructions and see what they recommend.

Hi, normally in new construction homes the contractors will install blocking in between the studs where the kitchen will be in order for a fast and secure way to attach the cabinet to the wall, and not worrying whether or not the screws are missing a stud. In my case because this was a remodel I didn't not have blocking so it was very time consuming finding the studs. Ikea's instructions for securing the cabinets to the wall require their bracket system to be secured every 12in, but my studs where only 16in on center. Installing a base frame would allow me too quickly and securely attach the cabinets to the wall because all the weight is on the base frame. Then screwing the cabinets to the studs are there just to keep the cabinets from tipping over. I'm not knocking on Ikea's system, but I think the base frame for a remodel would help for a more smoother install.

@@BeeNehBuilds thanks for the response. I think i understand. You built your own base frame to sit the cabinets on top. Ahhh....Yes finding studs can be tough. Another possibility might be nailing cleats to wall instead of using their rails??
