Nice video, good to know that if you are in the US you don't need to lose sleep over this. I know your wife mentioned she lost her job due to Covid-19. Did that pose any problems? Would it have been a problem if it wasn't a covid related job loss?

@pratikchaudhari23443 жыл бұрын
No. You need to be a US citizen to petition for your parents. The good news is you can become US citizen in 3 years if the GC is through marriage or 5 years if the GC is through employment.

@@pratikchaudhari2344 Your info is wrong. As a green card holder, one can sponsor his/her parents. Only difference is that timeline is pretty long than a US citizen sponsoring parents.
@pratikchaudhari23443 жыл бұрын
@@manpinder28 No man! I think you should check your stats. US Green Card holders cannot sponser their parents. They can only sponser their spouse. To sponser your parents, you have to be US citizen, atleast 21 years of age and your salary should be above the stated threshold limit.
@manpinder283 жыл бұрын
@@pratikchaudhari2344 Thanks for correcting me. Yes, a green card holder can’t sponsor his/her parents. To sponsor spouse, even a US citizen need to be of at least the legal age of marriage and be financially able to support his/her partner. Filling of I-864 is mandatory. If US citizen doesn’t have enough income then an another person can file I-864 along with US Citizen’s I-130.

@stevenroshni12283 жыл бұрын
@@QQQQ-ys4cy shouldn't cost that much unless you need an extreme hardship waiver (for example you have a relatively minor criminal conviction). Because then you need a lot of evidence to show the US citizen spouse would suffer more than most would if you weren't allowed to stay.
