A few days ago, I played an anonymous Grandmaster on chess.com. This game features a strong attack and some sacrifices - good review for beginners and intermediate players on tactics and strategy combined.

I think my calculation is getting better. I found two of those sacrifices and found the main ideas of the variations. Not the actual best variations but I still have a lot of trouble visualizing the board and remembering where everything is and what it can do.

@maxthexpfarmer3957
@maxthexpfarmer3957 3 жыл бұрын
I've heard him say that you need two more attacking pieces than they have defending pieces. I think this is only pieces that can actually attack and defend, not some rook in the corner or queen on the other side of the board. And opposite-colored bishops are good for you because they're bishop can't fight your bishop.

4:08 I thought about Rxh6 by white(open check by the bishop) if the opponent ever captures white's bishop on f4. Black can't capture the rook on h6 because of the bishop on c4 checking the king. Black can block the check with Rf7 but Rh8 by white is checkmate. Black can try to block with his knight with Kd5 but Rh8 is still checkmate.
@Rei-gh6ul

Also if black queen blocks with Qd4 after white rook takes pawn on h6 then Rh8 by white is still checkmate.

When you moved the rook and made the “immortal move” of the game, why didn’t you take his knight on d5 with your knight on c3 first, allowing you to maintain the pin. And if he takes the rook you take the bishop on e7 with your knight, and simultaneously attacking his new knight on e6? Sorry if it’s confusing

In the same position where you showed taking the pawn on F7 to be able to win back his bishop and be up a pawn... You ever move the knight first and if your opponent takes your queen it's mate in 1?
