Thanks! I didn't have to adjust the angle at all, just leaned the monopod a bit further back as I got closer.

Result! I once shot a hyperlapse of Tower Bridge from London Bridge, with my camera and 70-200mm lens held over my head (I'm somewhat tall, but not tall enough). Exhausting! Wish I'd thought of this monopod trick, genius (of course, I don't have a monitor either, something else to buy :-)

Thanks and well spotted! That was a quick n dirty mask added in after effects with a zoom blur applied, I then keyframed the position of the 4 keyframes to move with the position of the cathedral.

any tips on the tilt at the end? how do you make it as smooth as possible, by how many increments/degrees do you tilt up/adjust the tripod-head?

All you do is track the anchor point on the building using the crosshair (or a focus point in your camera viewfinder if you're shooting without a monitor), so there's an ever so gradual change as you take a step each time. Same as any hyperlapse really!

nice workflow. technically you should always get away with a monopod like that, yet wouldnt be surprised if people dont try and moan..

Yeah I prefer shooting handheld but for longer shots like this a monopod is better than a tripod, especially in busy spots like that

I love the fact that i can walk continuously without stopping, using my Samsung Galaxy S20 on a selfie stick (for the height) and it automatically creates amazing hyperlaps videos. This set up may give resolution but oh My gawd it would take a full day. Plus post photo editing. Mine took only the time that an average person walks across the bridge. Nice video to show us though.
