My Interview with St Vincent

Hello, friends. This week's video is an updated version of my interview with St. Vincent. I conducted this interview with Annie Clark (aka St. V) on April 1, 2014 in the basement of Sokol Auditorium (now called The Admiral) where she was performing that evening. This was during the "Digital Witness" tour, and was about a week before Annie fronted Nirvana during the band's induction ceremony to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
She was touring in support of her self-titled, fourth album; it was the first for her new record label, Loma Vista.
I was able to upgrade the audio from my original 2014 posting, and am including a little bit of the interview that was edited out of my original. For the video, I am using photos and videos that I have taken of St. Vincent going back to 2009. Of all the interviews I have done over the years, this one ranks among my all-time favorites.

Thanks. I feel like she really thought about the questions and her responses to most of it. Many artists have sort of canned responses, but I don't think she did. Maybe I tell that Westerberg story too often 😉

I don't really get it either. She sounds nothing like Kate Bush. Oddly enough, in 2014, it was a super dated reference. But after Stranger Things, Kate Bush became popular again.
