I like how the Pokemon Company wanted to investigate Palworld for depicting Pokemons owning a gun, not hiding the fact that the original _Pokemon_ anime have a character holding Ash at gunpoint in that episode.

the way they integrate your caught Pokemon into the gameplay loop is something I'd love to see in Pokemon. Your Pals aren't just for battling. They can do chores around your base. And each Pal type can do different chores. Some can build stuff, some can plant seeds, some can water those seeds, etc. So even if a Pal isn't useful enough to go into your party, it can be useful on your base instead of just sitting in your box forever. Also, it delivers on something I've wanted Pokemon to do from the start: You can ride the Pals you catch. Not like specific Ride Pokemon that only exist to replace vehicles, but the Pals you catch and put in your party. If it's a type that can be ridden, you can hop on, even if you cant ride them, you can just walk together and explore the world together with your pokemon In the overworld **I don't expect Pokemon to do the same kind of base building survival stuff** but have something that lets me have a bunch of Pokemon running around and interacting with me and the world ,just like what we Saw In the anime . They've already done so many half-steps towards this, like follow Pokemon, or setting up camp and watching them run around. pokemon Scarlet/violet/arceus is good step forward with living overworld filled pokemon and rideable pokemon (but not as good as palworld,but still can be improved easily) - TDLR : ignore the survival/base building aspect Palworld provide what pokemon advertise In the anime . the ability to ride / interact / and explore the world with your pokemon as group we want to explore the world with our Pokémon and have fun together. just like what ash doing In the anime, We want that experience

i think the whole "pokemon + gun" thing is a bit of a strawman. the main gameplay loop is survival and upgrading the base. palworld takes a lot of inspiration from other games, not just pokemon.

I can't play Palworld. One thing is I can't get it, another thing, sure I have OS which is supported by game, but the laptop is old and doesn't meet games requirments. So from what I heard monster catching/taming part of the game is small part of the game. Mostly it is something like Ark or maybe any other survival game.

I hate how a game with lazy designs that blatantly copies existing Pokémon is beloved, but games in the monster collecting genre that reinvent it and have original designs are ignored. There's so much, that i hate about this game, its concept and its average consumers. It's a game designed for toxic people (but i'm glad it isn't too woke-washed). I don't mind the animal abuse, the "copying" of other games or the lack of personality of the NPCs and the game in general. All that being said, i ended up tapping my toe into Palworld anyway, bc it's on Game Pass LOL ... and, yeah, i ended up playing it for 6 hours per day/night for 3 days straight until my routines were F'ed and i was burned- and worn out from gaming in general. Haven't touched a game for 2 days now 👀
