Hey Adam, soooo good to see the jon boat back in action. I could really identify with some of the things you pointed out as "cons" with the sea deck. I have built a large jon boat and used a cheap Amazon 2 layer foam. I used a strong 3M adhesive that has worked well with the exception of a couple of places that I had to re-sand and reapply. I have not had the issue with the color coming off on my shirt, but I have only had my boat completed for one winter but like you I love that boat...I can take it anywhere and not worry about what happens to it. I will be watching to see how the carpet goes. Good luck!!

It’s the orthro Dek. not seadek. Adam I don’t believe you have enough gap on lids to carpet them. And a cover helps that along way. I ran hydroturf in old boat for 4 years. Never got caulky. But didn’t sit in Texas sun for 18 months either.
