Awesome idea! I used to tie flies when I fly fished a lot and something I love to do with a ned rig is cut down bait holder hooks and use the barbed shaft to tie a marabou or flashabou tail for my neds. You can play with the colors, chartreuse, black, brown and burnt orange are my go-to, sometimes a wine red. It adds a very natural look to the bait as the tiniest movement causes that marabou to ungulate. I use it a lot on days when I’m really having to slow way down.
@notsure83272 жыл бұрын
Another great material is rabbit fur. I tie a full rabbit zonker ned in ned heads as well. If you look up underwater footage of a zonker streamer, you’ll see how awesome they look in the water. Basically a ned version of the old smallmouth jigs that I’m sure you’re familiar with

Matt Stefan fishing giving us an extremely interesting bait tip right there.😳 Greatly appreciated and I personally look forward to your posts each day. Allowing us to predict the winning anglers in advance of tournaments on your channel could generate lots of comments and I find it extremely fun. I had Lester, Cook, and Grieco who all won , had Welcher in the classic and Clausen in Redcrest they both finished 2nd. I’m saving Stefan for a northern smallmouth fishery after seeing that Ned spinner.🍺 Tomorrow I’m leaning toward Swindle,Birge,and or New but would love to see Hallman do well. Only thing I’m certain about is that I’m not picking Blauket.😊

Hey Matt, funny how things travel around I do that same thing as well. The one thing that I really like about it is it makes a lot of noise. I let the blade ride right on the end of the hitch hiker.,I just kinda bend the open end flat again the shank of the main wire... it's funny how much sound that blade makes spinning metal to metal. Great tip.... Keep them coming.

The fact you actually take advice from your subs is going to help us grow your channel for sure! Another big thing l notice you don't have is an intro theme! All the great channels have a theme song and a montage of you pullin up a 10 pounder, or holding your bass master trophy over your head screaming! Get a montage of you messing around with all your pro friends laughing and grab assin with a cool rock song behind it. Then a chest mount gopro, and a pole mount camera for the boat... I have a good feeling about your channel!

fish the base of the points close to the deep holes or the rock/sand transition falts in 6-14ft of water for smallmouth. largemouth will be in shallow dark bottom bays with new weed growth or next to hard targets like laydowns, cattails and docks
