This video inspired me to sign up for KDP, but while signing up I found out I already had opened a KDP account in 2015, published a couple of books then forgot about it till today, I even got sales and now I can launch new books 😁

Hi Nuria. I know this is a bit off your theme but maybe you could make a video about how to workout your taxes, etc. I’m in UK too and I would be very interested in learning from your experience.

That would be different for each person and situation. I am registered self-employed in the UK and submit my tax return every year. But you may want to look into a limited company or partnership depending on your situation. I am not a tax expert and I have a very good accountant, I can really recommend you speak to a professional. If you're at the beginning of your kdp journey I would look into when you would have to register for self-employment as you may not have reached the £12000 tax threshold. But like I said, this is not something I can advise on and it would be different for each person and situation. I could however make a video on how to do a budget for your business, that might be helpful. Thank you for the suggestion, and best of luck!

Thanks for your answer. Yes, a budget one will be very interesting as income is so variable, and you pass threshold as you sell more and more. I am at the begging of the journey so still keeping my full time job, therefore it is important to keep enough money on the side to pay appropriate taxes.

I've been publishing since Sept 2021 and I'm still struggling. I even put in a couple of ads but no numbers ever showed up. I know I'm doing something wrong I just don't know what.

I have several videos on how I run ads and there isn't really a 'one fits all' way of doing it. I'm not sure I said agressive, I think I said I advertise heavily which means I run a lot of ads and probably spend too much on them. I'll see if I can make a more updated ads video. I was all excited today about getting my first Children's book published. I joined Amazon KDP and to my absolute horror, discovered their minimum colour page count is 72 pages. How on earth do you create a 72 page story for pre school or toddlers? I really don't like the idea of writing for page count rather than for the story quality.

The minimum is 24 pages... you're looking at standard paper which requires 72 pages. If you make them with premium paper make sure your book has under 40 pages to keep the cost competitive.
