Here's my tip, for what it's worth. In the UK the Tyvek tape is (like you say) really expensive (£34-£40 a roll). I have started using the white packing tape (the one with FRAGILE printed along it in red) and found the epoxy doesn't stick to that (£1.99 a roll)

I would run the plastic smoke tube up to about a 1/2 inch from the top of the pipe, and that would make it easy to put a T in the plastic line under the truck and you could use something to block the bottom of the stacks to keep it from smoking out the bottom. Love the truck great good on it.

Tip for the Future: the next time you guys pour something that big/thick, point the shop fans at the slabs and turn them on the moment you stop popping bubbles... Epoxy Resin doesn't care if it gets a little cold, all that does is lengthen the cure time a little and the fans help keep the Resin (and you) from overheating...

Save money on the tape by using Easy Liner removable adhesive clear laminate contact paper. Comes in 3 sizes: 12" x36', 18" x24' & 20" x30'. The resin releases really easily from it. Most people prevent leaks by not only putting silicone in the joints but tape the joint on the outside as well. The bar top would have looked better if the river continued through the logo section as well.

Any advice on how to make a make-shift jig for a DIY'er making a outdoor table with 2 30 inch wide and 8 ft long slabs. I'm not nearly as experienced as y'all with big epoxy pours, but I THINK the bubbles you thought were from heat were actually air seeping out of the slabs because you didn't seal the edges with a coat of epoxy before doing the pour. Everyone else I've seen do big pours like this "paints" a coat of epoxy over the live edge to seal in the air so it doesn't do the very thing you had happen.
@paulthegeek3 жыл бұрын
(Don't get me wrong. Temperature is also important during the cure process. But those bubbles were not likely part of that issue.)
