Your seedlings and plants look gorgeous! And that Rosita Brandywine tomato looks amazing; I can understand why you didn't resist. I sowed Southern Charm mullein ("mullen") about 2 months ago and the seedlings are growing nicely, in 2" pots now. I also just sowed another variety last week, so we'll see how they compare when it comes to planting out. Your lisianthus look promising; I started mine at the end of January and finally they are looking like plants (for the longest time, they were the tiniest seedlings I ever saw); not sure if they'll flower before frost, at this rate... Zone 6 in Massachusetts but last frost date is closer to May 15, I think. I've got so many seedlings going that I'll need to fabricate a little outside shelter on my deck with some clear plastic. And still I bought more seeds. You understand, I'm sure. Happy gardening!

I’m so glad to hear your lisianthus is doing great ❤ I’m in zone 9b and all my lisianthus survived this year now I have over 100 lisianthus because I overwatered last year and lost so many they are starting to bud up so exciting to see them bloom soon ❤

I have started my sunflowers indoors for years! They have always done great and if they get too tall, I bury the stem as you would a tomato.

I’m growing Shades of Summer mullein. They remind me of the growing habit of foxgloves in terms of the rosette shape. I believe they have a tap root too. I see the native variety growing in cracks of sidewalks and all sorts of junky soil so I’m hoping these varieties don’t need a lot of baby-ing ❤

I LOVE Bootstrap Farmer products. I also have the small multi-color pots - great for transplanting seedlings. I'll have to check out the 4 packet deep pots. All of your seedlings look great. You're going to love the lisanthus. I grew them for 3 years straight and absolutely LOVED them! They will test your patience, but are SO worth the weight. Which varieties did you sow?

😳you bought more tomatoes with all those seedlings! 😮 O-O, get ready to pot up. I grew orange hat and that is fine as they are midgets. The Mexico Midget Was Not! I didn’t know and they are big. Man those Lizzie’s take a long time! Lol, I had to take out most of the flats today to the GH. It will finally be steady 60s next week!🎉 I started peppers way too soon, some are 7” 😮 and think grow bags will be needed on some, but I’m still holding off on tomatoes. Ran out of space as I started more perennials and annuals this year. I had bad petunia and geranium seed on second sowing. I think it’s easier to start geraniums from seed than overwintering. Bootstrap didn’t have the 4 cell a couple years back or that’s what I would have bought. The 6 cell are too short. The holder for 2.5” pots is nice but only like to use them with a shallow tray as they sit too high up in normal tray and hold too much water without it reaching the roots. Definitely like 4 cell and the green are for peppers and orange for tomatoes. I have a May 12th last frost and don’t plant out until June 1st as it would be too much to cover from freak frosts. Not doing that again 🙄. Set up some low tunnels today and will plant brassicas. Then get some peas and a ton of onions in and potatoes. We are getting some rain and hope the drought cycle is turning around. The 5/25/23 freak frost killed back everything and waiting on potatoes this year. Your seedlings look Terrific! Oh, when did you start your coleus? Tip, if you plant Megatron Jalapeños they grow fast. I’m trying to take note and not start rapid growing plants too soon.

My last frost date was March 31. I will be planting most everything out on Monday or Tuesday.🥳 My tomatoes are touching the grow lights. I started them two weeks later than usual to avoid having to use the 8x8x8 pots, but they could use potting up! Only 2 days to go, so we’re hanging in there!

Awesome update but I feel so behind. For some reason all my seedlings are growing so so so SLOW this year. My coleus is tiny. I have a new grow room this year so maybe that has something to do with it. Your lisianthus looks fantastic, I've never grown it. Gorgeous seedlings:)

I grow mullein its yellow. I dry the mullein leaves for hot tea for coughs and congestion, but you have to strain it really good through a cloth before drinking. Mine has grown huge. I started the pink mullein, but it’s way slower right now than the yellow. My first year starting the pink.

Boot Strap all the way! I am loving them also, and I just purchased a few more things but will be sitting down this summer creating a new order for more. I love, love, love them, and you gave me the inspiration to check them out. So, glad I did. I love the colors also and I am right there with you on the 4 cell pack or just anything they have to keep on growing. I am in Zone 6 also (MO) and I am getting really excited about planting things out. It's just getting in there and trying, which counts.

Apricotta was my favorite variety of Cosmos that I grew last year. Beautiful peachy pink color and not too tall. I think we all get it with the tomatoes. Once we're this close to planting time you just can't help yourself! 😊

I’m running out of space in my grow room and my last frost date is around the same time as yours. So I decided to start hardening off my perennials that I started inside this week. Fingers crossed they survive. Can you give an update on the pepper plants you overwintered? I also overwintered five of my pepper plants, and only two survived.😢

I like what I have bought from Boot Strap Farmer. Only one issue, I ordered 10x10 seed starting tray with holes and meant to order 5x5. Really no use for the 10x10 😞return shipping is $16.95. Since that was all I ordered with the order I did it on Amazon to save shipping and usually can return for free on Amazon.

Ro, my foxgloves looked just like yours. I hardened off and planted 2 weeks ago in Pittsburgh. They've come through the last few freezes just fine! Planted out some lupines too, but put those under domes purchased at $ tree to protect from freezes. They're fine too. Congrats on the lisianthus, I don't have the patience for them!

Yes it is kind of had to go to a store and see plants and not buy some ... I was in Home Depot yesterday and left with 5 plants that I am also growing from seed ... go figure that one well I guess you know -- you bought tomatoes ... LOL
