I’ve been a nanny for over 20 years and for almost every child I’ve ever taken care of I’ve put a Christmas tree in their bedrooms decorated to their individuality and every night they go to sleep with the lights on. Those iced trees in the corner against that cinnamon wall is just gorgeous with that epic table and pine centerpiece. Beautiful. Drew, hot tip! I always learned to set the table by going in alphabetical order: Fork, Knife, Spoon. It helps me when I set the table since I learned it and hope it can help you too! Also remember that knife side hugs the plate... this is how others back in the day communicated there was no violent feelings towards their table neighbor by not pointing the knife blade towards them! ❤ Curled up in my comfy chair…..with fresh brewed coffee and some generous cuts of fruitcake. Couldn’t ask for a better afternoon brake! Even though you have all the pending excitement of the new house move, this last decorating is a nod of thankfulness too your previous shelter. I loved how you managed to make a cohesive look and used a lot of neutral and subtle items (like those plaid blankets). Putting the tree in a pot is EVERYTHING! I will definitely utilize that idea in the future. It looks classy, the tree is higher, I like that you showed us what you did inside the pot to put the tree in there. You could take that string of bells and put it in the courtyard of the new house and when the wind blows you'll hear it I think it'll be lovely. You could use that red and green rug as a table runner next year.

Everything is indeed so warm and inviting! I love the Norwegian Spruce in the bedroom and the 2 trees in the dining room...gorgeous trees! What I liked about your decorating….there was really no red or green…it felt holidayish without it. Not that I don’t like red or green …but creating a holiday style that is interesting and refreshingly different! My interior decorator mom loved Christmas and every year the neighbors would always come by to see her tree. My most favorite tree was when she had brass Chinese wind chimes on it…with these beautiful birds. We lived in Nuuanu on Oahu where there is a good share of wind. My grandmother had a sewing shop and used real ribbon on our presents. And my sister is an interior designer and uses wallpaper samples from old sample books to wrap our presents. It’s fun to see you do something similar!

Pro-tip, if your candles don't fit into the base and are too narrow for the candle holders, making them lean over, use aluminum foil to fit the candle to the base. It's fire safe and can be completely concealed in any metal or ceramic candle holder. it also makes cleaning up the candle after it's all burned down really easy. I actually do this in my Hanukkiah as well as other kinds of candelabras and candle holders.

I really love your LR tree. I've never seen one offered with such sparse branches. It's so realistic. 🎄 So Scandinavian. It makes your ornaments be the star ⭐ ✨ they are. My grandmother worked as a maid in the 19teens for a wealthy family in Minneapolis. She taught me the importance of tying one's apron bow properly so it lays flat. (I inherited her maid's apron!) You do it properly, but for anyone wondering, she told me to first begin the bow with the first loop being the underneath ribbon. You know, looking at the simple knot there's one strand of ribbon that looks like a waterfall and the other is underneath. Start with the underneath side. You can't ever mess it up. 😃 I hadn't paid much attention to your bedroom chairs before. I really like them. I've selected a mid-century modern-style couch from Apt2B and am still looking for chairs to fit that vibe. I think yours (while unconventional for this 66 yo lady) might work vs. a fully upholstered chair. You really did a great job on your holiday decorations. I’m so glad I watched this last night. I have not been feeling well. I’m on disability and have multiple chronic illnesses. This year I bought a smaller more sparse tree because I just didn’t have the strength or help to put up a big tree. Prepping tip is awesome. And a lot of the stuff that I get shipped to me with craft paper crumpled up, so I smoothed it out and I have rolls and rolls of the craft paper and then I’ll use the print as a highlight like you did. So glad I’m watching the show.

Your style is really becoming more and more refined and confident. This is a lovely way to bring the holiday’s into your space in a way that is in harmony with your home as it is year round, adding layers of texture and warmth and cheer without it feeling like Christmas took over the space altogether, if that makes sense. I have so many bells … so many … 😅 and I will be doing that on my tree this year (it just went up yesterday, still acclimating to the house and slowly relaxing itself so I haven’t decorated it yet. Dearest one, this year your decorations are absolutely divine!!!! I finally hnow what I am going to my beautifull hard leather piece. it is going to be cut into shape and hung with a crushed velvet ribbon. I make leather ornaments and this piece was a challenge, much harder than what I usually use. remember to just love christmas, dont get stressed, it is about enjoying it.
