Ah....another Montovani fan. I had listened to his Exodus record for years. I got back into vinyl (at least more actively) recently and expanded my Montovani collection by a couple albums via thrifting. He was a yuge figure for his time. I don't know that a lot of people know that. I say, if you haven't sampled Montovani, you can't call yourself retro. :D

Your Beatles 'Butcher Cover' is in GREAT Shape ! They were shipped with the plain cover 'glued' over the Orig. cover to save money from the factory. It was peeled off by the owner and has done minimal damage to the original artwork. This condition absolutely proves this to be a fist issue !!!

My understanding is the peeled without damage are the Sears returns that were fixed and reshipped. Also a cache of original butcher covers were discovered in a Capitol exec house after his death. True? Maybe but still a good story.@@kennysaudiophilerecordreviews

What an amazing haul, for $1.99 each! A little history on the condition of the Beatles album: Yesterday...And Today was initially released with the infamous "Butcher Cover". The cover created some controversy, so Capitol Records had the initial pressings recalled, and the pasted the replacement cover photo over the "Butcher Cover", then issued subsequent pressings with the new cover. Many people who bought the album with the pasted on replacement cover peeled that cover off. The copy you have is one that had the replacement cover peeled off. And even those can go for a good bit of money. So, finding it for a $1.99 is great bit of luck!

Created "some" controversy? Dude, that's like saying Hitzer created "some" problems in 1930's and 1940's Europe. Record companies don't recall printed album covers and paste over the artwork willy nilly. Nice of you to point out why his album looks the way it does though... thanks

My Mom worked for Fleetwood records in the 70's Revere, Ma. Packing up records for shipment and I sometimes helped. I became interested in collecting them around 1978. The rarest one I saw was at a flea market and it was Pink Floyd Ummagumma with the front cover having the band in the bottom and not the Gigi or a white cover. This had the band with the cover of Ummagumma LP on front! I did not have the $10 which was (a lot back then) the guy wanted for the record. At the time, I did not know it was a cover not known to even have been printed. At least one is real and I let it slide through my hands!

That Louis Armstrong Town Hall Concert Plus album looks like an original US Mono edition from 1957, which is very nice to have. I first bought that album around 1970 in the UK version which had been pressed by Decca in England. It is a great selection of Louis's work from the late 1940s and includes several tunes with Duke Ellington and his men. The rarest record I ever saw in person was an original 1938 Robert Johnson 78 on the Vocalion label of 'Terraplane Blues' - it was at a record swap meet at Pasadena College in 1997. I actually got to hold this record which was on hold until a scout from Keith Rochards came and looked at it. Richards was in L.A. at a studio. The disc itself was pristine except for a rim chip on one side not affecting play as the chip was not into the 1st grooves. When I got home that night, I got a call from my friend who knew the seller who had called to inform him that Richards bought the Johnson disc for $4650. He already had that record, but it was in such bad shape it was barely playable. Rochards reportedly had every known commercially released record Robert Johnson made except for two or three which are known to be nearly impossible to find in any condition. I have heard that Richards has since located the remainder of the Johnson recordings needed to complete his collection and has every known release including reissues and alternate label issues. Another very rare record I saw in a privately owned collection was the 1933 Jimmie Rodgers 78 rpm picture disc of 'Cowhands Last Ride' b/w 'Blue Yodel No. 12' on the RCA Victor label.

That Beatles Butcher cover looks like one where the original own peeled off the sticker covering the original cover.

I have a first edition Samual Clemmons, Adventures of Tom Sawyer that I payed $3.00 for at a Savers a while back. I used to SCORE with jewelry but they got some fancy equipment and they price gem stones way differently. I have a book and record collection that looks like I spent enough to buy a couple of houses for next to nothing.

Recently found Herbie Hancock's Thrust and Dusty In Memphis WLP in VG ++ at my local thrift for $1. I've had similar finds a few years ago but its getting harder and harder to dig these kind of finds since the vinyl renaissance.

My dad managed to find the rarest record I’ve ever seen twice, eight years apart, for around a dollar. He sold them for $2000 each. It had been made on a private label by a local folk group. Only 50 copies were pressed and given out to friends and family back in 1971.

Let me try making this message a second time 😞 . Those two Star Wars soundtracks you had are two records I've been looking for for many years. Actually the first SStar Wars is the main one I listened to growing up. Back at the end of June, I had to go down to Houston to sell the family house. I had about 400 albums I had left down there when I moved to where I live now in 1992. But somewhere around 1998, I started looking for my records down in Houston and could not find them. After a decade or so of looking when I would make it down there I finally concluded that my sister or my dad must have thrown them away when they lived in the house. But as me and my friend were loading up the truck and trying to move what I could get, I found about 50 of my records. Somebody had stored them away in the junk room and with my lack of much vision send some eye surgeries went wrong in 2001, I never could find them in there until moving stuff out of the house. And both of those Star Wars albums were in there. But unfortunately the Texas heat and the house being left for a decade with nobody living in it and the AC shut off didn't do those records any favors. Plus, me being 10 years old in 1977 when I got the Star Wars double album didn't help things either. They ween't really warped but they were scratched really bad. So long story shortened, I'm still looking for a good copy of at least the Star Wars 2 LP set and it's that exact same one you had found. There was a little bit of light at the end of the tunnel. Out of the 50 or so records that I found, a few of them were still in excellent shape and sounded great. I was really surprised and I was convinced that if I ever did find them in the house they would all be melted haha! Brian in fort Worth 🎶

Hey Brian...sorry about what happened to your Star Wars records. I hope that you are able to find the one's that you are looking for. Those Star Wars albums are great and it took me some time to find them. I believe that I may have them on CD but it's nice having the albums. I hope all is well with you and thank you for watching my video 😊 ✌️

@@kennysaudiophilerecordreviews it's kind of funny because a couple of weeks ago I saw another YT video where a guy was flipping through some records and that Star Wars original was in there. I'm sure I'll find a good copy one day and I'll keep looking. $2 was great and you got a deal 👍 I don't really listen to classical music but John Williams and the London Symphony Orchestra really did a great job on that movie's soundtrack. I literally played that record to death back when I was young. I'll find me one someday and thanks for the reply Kenny. And enjoy your copy too 👍

Nice finds! Wish they would just train their staff to charge 1.99 versus putting stickers on potential collectors items. Got lucky last week got Sony classical and Decca Sounds music cd boxsets for 4 dollars each. Two are worth close to 700 bucks between the both of them.

I agree with you on the price stickers. Congratulations on your great finds 👏 👍

Nice haul dude. Lots of great albums and only 1.99 each? 🎉 I gave all my vinyl to my kids. I like the “quality” of the old records but I can’t tolerate the snap, crackle, and pop! of LPs. Enjoy your collection.

My uncle had that record when he was young and my aunt peeled the cover off because she wanted to see what was banned on the real cover. He sold it in the 80's or 90's because it was worth a bunch back then.

@@kennysaudiophilerecordreviews It was several hundred back then, I want to say $600.00 but forget. I remember them talking about how valuable it was. This was way before the internet.
