Law school is no joke especially being older than most my peers. I'm currently in my second semester of 1L and I am oh so tired everyday but I won't give up. Thank you, Angela for providing extra inspiration as we aspire to boss up too. P.S. I almost had a 3.5 my first semester but I got a B- in Torts (still, these are the best grades I've ever earned). However, I will get it this semester and ring in my 30th bday like a boss lol.

Thanks for making this. I'm prepping for Feb LSAT right now. Realized late in life (38) that I want to be a lawyer. Studying for this exam while working a FT job in a global pandemic... after being out of undergrad for 15 years, is ALOT. But nothing's going to stop me. Looking forward to making it over to the other side with my sisters in the less than 2%!

I am 40 years of age and contemplating on going to law school. Ive always wanted to, but decided to go to nursing school, which I never really had interest. I made a decision to go with career that I could begin earning money much more quickly & now im paying for it because its not fulfilling.

I’m 2nd year of uni & while I’m becoming more serious with my grades, law internship applications and my future sometimes I wonder if I can sustain this or will I just fall back into my old habit of accepting being just decent and not being hard working or having high aspirations (things needed to Be a lawyer) . On people who don't like big law because they never had the opportunity. Agreed. I was one of them myself. I had some difficulties due to poor bachelors marks, but I pulled myself together during my masters. With a little luck I landed my first big law firm, and since then it has been in total 3 different big law firms. By now no one cares about my bachelors.

Yes you certainly can but as with any career there will sometimes be struggles given the demanding career but it also depends on what path you go down in law of how demanding your career will be. Most of the people i work with including myself have families and seem to be balancing it well.

I’m 26 and don’t even have an associates degree yet... I took too many shortcuts and dropped out of college when I was younger but recently went back. Idk if I should strive for a a career in law. I work for a debt collector as a secretary. I went through high school trying to survive not necessarily trying to achieve my dreams.

You’re a light that shines so bright It showed me the way forward. I have a 3.97 GPA from accounting at UTRGV. I graduated Summa Cum Laude from an associates in business form the cheapest community college from Texas and then transferred, I wasn’t sure I wanted to be a Lawyer because it seemed so imposible for someone of my background (I’m a firsthand generation immigrant), but now I have started looking up information about the LSAT and it eventually lead to channels like yours. this video was everything omg tysm!! i’m currently a senior in high school and i start college in the fall of 2021, i’ve been saying i want to become a lawyer since i was in middle school. i as well have similar parents they didn’t finish school but have always encouraged me in everything i do and made sure school was top priority before anything else and required me to straight A’s which luckily wasn’t a big struggle for me. And yeah since the 7th grade i’ve just always stuck on to the thought of okay i’m going to get good grades, go to college, go to law school and pursue a career in the legal field which is a career i’ve always been interested in. for the longest time i thought i wanted to become a family lawyer but i recently discovered that family law wasn’t for me ... i don’t like court appearances this make me so nervous and i also don’t really like public speaking i sorta do struggle with that and so that’s when i said yeah nope this isn’t it 😅👎🏽 then i started watching youtubers that pursued a career in the legal field and came upon your channel and and clicked on one of your law videos then sorta ended up watching all of them haha which i don’t regret. you seriously taught me a lot about stuff that i had no clue, so much important information so thank you for that!! you’re verily an inspiration to not just me but many others whether they want to go into the legal field or not, you motivate us to go after our dreams and never take no for an answer! we need more people like you in this world🙌🏽but yeah after i found your channel and found out about what you do i fell in love w corporate business i did some research about didn’t quite understand it all😂 but it sure did grab my attention! and then i made the decision of okay now i want to become a business lawyer and i started to look into majors on my college website more so business majors that would help me succeed in law school and let me tell you it’s been a real struggle, i’m having such a hard time picking a major idek what interests me anymore. i don’t think i’ve ever in my life had to make a more harder decision😅😅 i’m still undecided ... and was wondering if you could recommend me any majors and give me insight on some? also can you give me a brief explanation of what corporate law really is like i did research it but i didn’t quite get it. Haha yes that debt will make you second guess. If I had another chance to do it again, i would still go but i would applied for a billion scholarships and found other ways to pay for at least part of the tuition.

Thank you so much for all these tips! I was debating on going to a school I got into because I have a very similar journey and didn’t get into any top tier schools. I got into West Virginia University but I know I am not sure if I want to stay in that state. I actually prefer to work in DC or in a larger city. Do you think I would be able to land opportunities in DC when I attend a school that’s like 3 1/2 hours away? There’s a lot of good schools in DC so I want to make sure I can have opportunities even though I didn’t go to law school there. Thank you!

I would research the particlar school to determine that. You can usually get information on what places recruit at your law school. I am just not familiar with the DC market.

Many accounting majors go to law school! As a transactional lawyer, I will say tax lawyer are a GODSEND!

I think I heard you say you were working your 2 year of law school. Is it normal for companies to allow you to work as an attorney before passing the bar or even graduating?

It was an internship in the spring semsester so yes But also if you graduated law school, the firm will allow you to start your full time job while you wait for bar results.

What gave you the courage to move away from your family? I'm literally narrowing my law school choices based on geography. I want to branch out and move North East but my family is from the South. I know if move far, I probably wont see them as often as I would if I stay close to them... What's your advice?

I knew starting in my hometown wouldn’t be the best for my future and that helped drive the decision. It can be tough sometime for sure especially when most of your family is in the same city like mine is but i will say it does make visiting and moments with them much more special since i don’t see them as often. The way i see it is you can always settle back home or near home but the experience of venturing out is a good one. Teaches you all sorts of skills. Best of luck!
