DJaySplitSecond Exactly! Hammer brought a style and energy to hip hop dance that was NON-EXISTENT. Yes dance was their out the gate but Hammer made everyone want to dance. #FromAnOG

@Hervinbalfour
@Hervinbalfour 7 жыл бұрын
I've been to the South several times. And I think you missed the point that was being made. What rap entertainer/artist at the time or prior to his arrival on the rap scene was dancing like that? No one! It even became the subject of disses amongst other artists. We all knew Hammer couldn't rap but he could dance his butt off. In fact his whole crew was next level. Not to mention that Hammer created a large number of dance steps that became known nation wide. We can't deny is role in hip hop dance.

MC Hammer paved the way for rappers receiving endorsements and becoming actors yet they called him a sellout for what they now receive millions for. The hip hop community really needs to thank Hammer his British Knight and taco Bell commercials, allowed them to feed their families and live well today.

Wow! This took me way back. I remember when he had some recruiters in Texas looking for dancers for his tour as well. My cousin and I were in a dance group and were quite popular. We were actually selected but unfortunately because we were still in high school our parents did not allow us to take that "Golden Opportunity". So it feels really great to not only hear but also see someone with a similar story that made it. Thanks Michele for sharing!

Mrs Bey I kind of not blaming your parents be cause it's a very hard and dirt business people will take advantage of you, including young people. not everyone is not Jackson matreial at that time it was just sex sex and hookerizing g sex. my dad always talk stupid in certain times but I had to realize that learning to be faithful and listening is the best important key.

It was for the 2 Legit 2 Quit video....uuugh I was soooo mad. I still get pissed at 37 when I think about it😂😂. I still know all of the routines. I credit him ,MJ, Debbie Allen and James Brown for my dancing skills. I always say though I had a natural talent MJ was my first teacher. When Hammer came out it was a wrap! He will always be in my top 5. You are so fortunate Michelle.

QueenGeneral Speaks well I thought through my spirit that hrs was raised with a preacher father and mother he was brought intention just to stay in God's plan and treat people fair and kindness. of course no one don't be Pollyanna all the time but since I'm become Christian, I know my self to make things better with him, I'm a business woman now and I had to be careful what am i get into and I had to act tough and grudgy because people will take advantage of you everyday. that's why I learn the basics on what her is trying to get his family together. jah bless.

Great interview!! But I'm surprised that the only drama was about a pink bikini. I heard Hammer was gangsta behind the scenes!!😂😂

Wow!! This is so impressive and touching. But sad to see that gone are the days where dancers were respected and music videos were all about dancing and having fun. God bless you, my Sister. Thank you for sharing these priceless memories. Jeez, music and entertainment is not the same like the good old days.

It was so refreshing to hear that there were and still are decent male artist out there that did not and do not take advantage of young women. It was a pleasure watching your old videos.

This was very nice!! It was a cute program, loved the family being involved and the inside stories that makes me love Hammer even more! Bay area native here! Strangely enough, I was just thinking about him yesterday and how he paid so many young people in the hood and put them in places they would never be. He didn't have to do that.. while I'm sure he liked the huge production, I think a part of him saw that as a way to give back. He sacrificed his own money to help others.. So selfless.. Love him.
