I think it's so important not to demonise the ego, I have seen a lot of this in the spiritual new age community and it is a deluded attitude. It is not a lie, it is real. When a loved one dies or perhaps you are badly injured, you are not saying, this doesn't matter because it's just an illusion. Respect the ego, for it is the currency in which you relate to the 3D realm. Remember, that without it there are no relationships.. we have come here to live the experience of being a human being with a personality so it does not make a great deal of sense to downplay the relevance of that. We can still have compassion for the personal self and all it's flaws but not take it too seriously, and the suffering is greatly reduced.

This made me cry. I've been trapped in "experiencing the illusion of separation" in my whole life and I can't take it anymore these days. How can life be a gift? No matter how you look at it. If there's no afterlife and God, then there's only nothing. All will have been in vain, and we don't take anything with us, everything dissapears, even civilization and humans and memories and everything anyone ever did ever. Is just a little glimpse you won't even remember. And if there is a God and an afterlife, i must assume that is better than here.
