I had a silly amount of fun playing this game and I honestly just lucked out that I decided to play during their Oktoberfest event because man this game is pretty cozy for being a horde shooter. Fun fact about the Dwarf catagory on steam: the Deep rock team tried to get Steam to make it but they said no. So the Deep Rock fans and Dwarf fortress fans came together to bully steam into making it.

I think there needs to be a Mission Control Simulator game, where you just have the sensors, a pixelated version of the dwarf facecams, their voices playing constantly so you can hear them request stuff, a mini game when they say "WE'RE RICH" or "MUSHROOM" over and over where you have to spam spacebar to not get pissed off but it gets harder with every voice line, eventually making you crack anyways, a money system based on how well you do your job(giving swarm notifications and whatnot fast enough, sending in the drop pod and all needed pods when requested, etc.,) maintainence work minigames after each mission like bringing barrels out of the launch bay or cleaning dwarf stains off the walls and floors in a satisfying cleaning minigame. Think the game VA-11 Hall A, but instead of bartending you're Mission Control. I think Mission Control Simulator would do really well.

It's crazy how just a simple thing like making the buffs be locked behind beers you have to order at a bar helps establish the first bond you have with any random teammate that makes you want to help eachother in-game when you drink beers together. I love how they balance exclusivity with FOMO in holiday events too. Each holiday event gives a unique cosmetic that changes each year. Can’t get it any other time of the year BUT if you complete the holiday unlock for the new cosmetic, you also unlock every single previous cosmetic for that holiday too. All the way back to the start of the games lifespan. You never permanently miss anything but you get to have something cool for a long while :)
