Pippa has always been my horse riding idol since I was a kid, I read her books (I forgot how they were named, I think “Pony Tales” or something) and watched every single video I could find of her on yt. I can’t wait to watch the whole video! Edit: You and Jam did so well!!

It's crazy to know that these exercises are used by professionals. I have used a number of these, all of which my current instructor has taught me, and they are definitely helpful. Bending around random objects in the arena in warm-up, jumping from a walk, stopping just after a fence (As well as having us spin around and jump back over, which really collected the horse and got them moving - terrified at me at first, I'll admit.), etc. Absolutely adore her suggestions, having tried them myself.

My trainer gave me the exact same exercise (the stopping right after a fence) and he litterley stood in front of me and told me I must stop before him. Both Jam and you are amazing love you so much! ❤️❤️❤️

A number of years ago I took a weekend clinic with Bruce Davidson. He wasn’t impressed with my little QH gelding and at one point told me that he was sure he couldn’t do it but walk up to a 3 foot fence, stop & jump it from a standstill. Of course me did it with ease. What I took away was to have your horse jump off his talent and NOT off speed. Guess that little 16 hh ge,ding showed him!

Beautiful. walking to jumps is an exercise I know well, way way back in the day I rode in some George Morris clinics and he did that as well as a walk to, back up until you believe you had two canter strides to the fence before you then...from the reverse, que canter and get the fence in those two strides...my horse had never jumped so big or shown such a bascule and scope as he did that day and afterward (because I kept doing those exercises). You and Jam look amazing!

I’m so glad Pippa has brought you more to consider. Walk jumping so important. And circles for manners and communications, as you say are so different from a circle pull out because you haven’t found the perfect stride. Pippa is right that jam has to be quick witted and sort it out when the stride isn’t perfect. So glad you’re getting so many new ideas to keep growing your skill. Best of luck for 2023.

Well done you on coping with the atmosphere. You always ride better when you don't have an out. Totally understand how hearing things from Pippa makes doing it easy but you have to remember that no Coach/instructor is going to ask you to do something you are not capable of. Also remember there is no way you would be asked to do the masterclass if they were not going to be able to do something interesting for the audience. You have shown during Vlogmass and with Lucinda that you can ride strange horses and do what your told😁. You now need to accept that you and the girls are well able to do whatever you want as long as you believe you can do it. Your 2023 resolution should be " I will not obsess about Numbers, either heights or %s"

It’s like Pippa was saying to you, “I know your horse knows all her basics. Now let’s go do some university courses,” but you’re thinking, “Is she really ready for university?” Without any question, yes, she is. Performing in the indoor arena with its packed stands and bright lights, doing things she’s never had to do before, being forced to think out her own solutions to problems, she was more than ready for university. After Badminton, I hope that you will take Jam to the next level, not because I want to stress you out, but Pippa and your other professional teachers are basically telling you, this horse is more than up to the job. Let her reach her potential and take you around with her. You won’t regret it. By the way, your riding was very high standard in that arena. Clearly you have taken to heart the lessons that you have been taught throughout 2022. You should feel chuffed about that. Pat yourself on the back for just a moment. You deserve it!
