I'm a music person here! You seem to be doing that right, but I'd suggest not using Garage Band, because it's hard to know what it does to the audio and in general I wouldn't trust it. Audacity is available for Mac as well and would give you a lot more flexibility with the sound afterwards. For further flexibility, I'd suggest splitting the sound coming out of the microphone so that it's going straight to the computer to be recorded and going into the loop pedal. (if it is possible to disable the loop board playing back the live microphone sound.) If there's anything you've got questions about, go ahead and ask! 😊

+Sander “Veritech” Skjegstad hey Sander! Thanks for taking the time for feedback :) I didn't know Audacity was available on Mac. I see what you're saying about splitting the sound. I did notice a usb input on my loop pedal I'll check it out further tomorrow morning I might not have a cable for it. If I had a microphone recording just my vocal (when doing it live I might wear head phones) incase I don't have the sub cable from my loop pedal. Should I just put the microphone infront of my amp and try to sync it afterwards? Looking forward to your thoughts ☺️☺️💜💜

You could try that, although the quality might take a hit from it. Guitar amps aren't made to have accurate sound, they're made to have a pleasant sound, so it might be difficult to make it sound good. But try it, do a little experiment. :) The best way to do it would probably be to buy a sound card (A good, cheap one is the Focusrite Scarlet Solo) It let's you have two separate inputs to your computer. One XLR and one jack plug, so then you could plug in a separate "live mic" in the XLR to sing live and plug the loop pedal with it's own mic into the jack plug, so you can get the separate audio tracks. It has a headset plug that lets you listen to the sound card inputs. That might be tad expensive for you, tho.

Brilliant job. I'm a singer and have sung since I was little.. but professional only started 2 years ago. I'm just about to get into looping, and bought the RC 30 same reason as you 'ED' But cables and stuff didn't have a clue.. no one on KZbin has a simple this is how I do it video.. so helpful. if you have a condenser mic then yes. but if you have a dynamic one such as a sure sm57 or sm58 then no. be careful because having phantom power on if ur mic doesn’t require it can damage ur mic. i speak from experience :(((((

Looks like right now, you are connecting the one 1/4 cable to the amp. Have you tried either splitting the mic & guitar output or having multiple mics (one to loop, one non-loop)? Just bought a RC30 and trying to figure out different options to play with.
