Just joined the FB group. I’m on a low/no buy year. Alternating months. I have done no buy January for 3 years. Last year it extended into March. I did it to be grateful for the new things at Christmas and to stop Christmas shopping when Christmas was done.

Thanks for the no buy inspiration on your channel! So far I have paid off $8230US since January 1st with my no buy and budget! Thanks again it’s totally changed our whole lives. Our goal in 12 months to pay off 3 credit cards 2 brand new cars and a bill we had. We have so far we have completed 2 1/2 things off the list! 4 1/2 things to go! It’s totally working and thanks for showing me it is possible! I am also surprised how much quicker we are able to pay stuff off without buying so much crap and using what we have before I buy more.

I've been doing Low/no buy for awhile myself and I enjoy other people's journey's as well. I actually have some videos up on the subject as well with my goals. I am a reformed shopaholic as well and you are so right, doing these low/no buys really does change your whole perspective on buying and spending. I just love it! No more instant junk! Using up what I have is awesome. Candles! They bring me joy as well! It's all in the personal goals of each individual and what makes them happy, and not develop a poor man's mindset, but living in your own definition of abundance!

Last year I moved. I threw out STUFF and I have to move again so I don’t need STUFF. My no buy is STUFF. Replacement items are fine. Groceries of course are fine but budgeted. No clothes. No house wear we are buying a house this year. Hopefully in cash.

Hi Lara Thanks for being such a refreshing and relatable person! You have helped me decide to start a low buy beginning in march. I had felt like I was too late because I usually want to do things “right” and that would have meant to start from January. But because I had been moving and starting my new job other things were my priority back then. So my low buy year is starting with a good exercise in not trying to be perfect and not following the all-or-nothing-principle. Thanks again for your inspiration!

Candles! Yes! I am decluttering and have found quite a lot I haven’t used (along with 12 body moisturisers).. So I am definitely doing the use what you’ve got first before buying anymore.. It’s alright if that is your exception. I have found very good quality name brand clothes second hand if your goal is to save money. I kind of find it’s a treasure hunt to find them!

If you have a favourite mascara that’s dried out a bit (I’m so guilty of not doing the lid up tight) adding 3 or 4 drops of a standard eye drop liquid refreshes it. Obviously pay attention to the use by on the package but it can help eek out the product if half is left but just a bit dry 🤷🏼‍♀️
