I feel your pain, I shot 124 this season with a 224 book average! If I didn't split- I missed easy spares! It definitely makes you never want to pick up a bowling ball again!

Been there more times than I care to admit. The better I throw the ball the worse shit I leave lol. Meanwhile, someone on the other team is throwing a polyester ball down the middle and getting strikes with a 70+ handicap LOL!

When people tell me they bowled so horrible I ask them: "Have you ever bowled a 113 No Tap Game?" They of course say "No." Then I tell them, "Well I did. So until you can do that, you have not truly bowled horrible." Oddly enough, last week I was bowling in No Tap sweeps and told this story to one of the players on the opposing team and for his second game he shot a perfect 113 No Tap game!

Haha about a month and a half ago I joined a beer league. I hadn't bowled in 10+ years. Used to carry ~200 avg in sanctioned leagues. My first game? Fucking 95. Sitting at a 150 avg now and slowly but surely getting close to consistent 170s-190s, but good lord, you haven't been humbled until you throw a 95 and miss every single damn spare. It was *rough*

Been there, done that which proves that some days are good, some days are bad in terms of how well you play. Stay positive Sarah! Glad you handled that very well! I used to do the opposite of that when I was younger

When you tug it, look at your left shoulder. It opens up to the lane quite a bit. I pulled it four or five boards nearly every shot I threw yesterday. I was beside myself mad and complained on Reddit. Someone asked if my left shoulder was opening and coming close to behind my back. It absolutely was. In an effort to put "everything I had" into getting the shot to the right place, I was over rotating my upper body. I have a 218 average on a house shot. Didn't even notice the change in my form until this question was asked. Stay more square to your mark. I bet that helps.

First night of league this year I bowled a 98. Yes 098. We'd been out of league with work & kids sports commitments for 6 years. We decided at the last minute to get back in. I didn't look for my bag until the last minute. Couldn't find it so I had to use lane shoes and borrowed a ball from my teammate. Thumb fit but couldn't use the finger tips so I just palmed the ball. Shot 140?, 160? and the dreaded 098 after drinking 5 beers a game. We're low in the bowling rankings but crushing the beer trophy standings😂

My son bowled a 117 earlier this season and he's only averaging in the 180's when he usually is at least 200+. He chalked it up to sucky season better luck next year.

I once bowled a 120 136 136 on a league night. After the center had a sports pattern tournament that weekend. So we wasnt able to make a spare to save our lives. Either ball was to strong. Or just going long on the sports oil pattern that was under the house pattern. Hooking the ball left nothing but splits. So definitely my lowest league series ever. And my 3 lowest games.

Watch that back and look where your hand was on the ball. You were on top of the ball and on the side of the ball quite a bit in your lowest game.

That’s just a bowler thing. I can’t stand it either. I have heard bowlers say bad ball and they hit the 1-3 pocket flush and strike. Then they say good ball and go across the nose I don’t know why bowlers do this but it is a thing in bowling.
