I’ve had my black hourglass bag for almost 2 years and I didn’t have any issues with the handle. It doesn’t lose its shape, it’s not bumping in my body when I wear it crossbody and open it, it doesn’t have any wear&tear. It’s in my top-3 fav bags and most used ones. If I had to start my bag collection over again - I would have definitely repurchased this bag! 🖤

Oh that is actually great to hear! The stitching at the handle hasn't stretched out at all? That's definitely my biggest concern with it.

Nope! The stitching is perfect! The handle is in the same condition as when I bought the bag. I don’t baby this bag and wear it a lot! It’s my go-to choice when I travel. The only so-called “wear and tear” I could mention is when you open a flap you could see the placement of the magnets on the sides (but I have it in a different leather, a bit more delicate, and it’s a part of the construction). It’s not obvious and doesn’t bother me at all. All in all, I’ve never regretted buying Hourglass. It goes perfect with casual outfits and can be used as an evening bag (not to mention that its capacity is also pretty amazing).

You might find a purse hook for tables useful! They're small and collapse onto themselves and you can hook any bag from its top handle.

It seems the Balenciaga Hourglass, like the Chanel Coco Handle, is meant to be more of a top handle instead of a shoulder/crossbody bag because of how stiff the handle is. As for the LV Alma BB, how do you find zipping/unzipping the bag while wearing it? Some complain about how inconvenient it is to do so.

The hourglass bag looks best in black. An everyday, classic colourway but in an interesting shape. Doesn't work in pastel or fancy colourways. I have mine in (no surprise) black. I keep the longer strap but I mostly carry by the short handle.

You are the first youtuber I watched who mention the concern with its top handle, which is great. I have the same concern regarding the handle. Because it has such an unique shape, I feel it is a classic, it is a keeper, just that it needs to be worn more gently.

Spot on about the Gucci Padlock. I loved it so much when you showed it on your channel that I went to check it out at the store. But the heaviness of the front of the bag and topping over bothered me too much to buy it. It was so cute though!

I have the LV Neverfull in the empriente leather (tourterelle colour) and have had no issues with the corners however, I’ve used a Samorga bag organiser from day one. I don’t find it heavy myself but, I haven’t had a canvas version to compare it to.

Agreed! I have the black empreinte version and put an organizer right away and have zero issue. I also have never had a canvas version and have nothing to compare weight wise

Oh that's great to hear! It did occur to me to use a bag liner with it but I don't love using liners with my Neverfulls (and I do think that the structure should be able to hold its own *without* a liner). That said, I should definitely fish one out now!

I have both canvas and leather Neverfulls and don’t see a marked difference in the weight. It all depends on how you stack them both up. I use an organizer and have no issues with any wear and tear or dents on the leather version.

Ooo good question! Honestly I’m lucky enough to say that I probably own all my ‘holy grail’ bags so all other bags are more like a hobby to me now. I like trying out new styles and varieties so I’m not sure I’ll ever stop. Unlike a pair of jeans, a bag always fits and looks great 😂 So I guess I’m already at ‘purse peace’ in the sense of loving the bags that I already own…. whilst also always being keen to try out new styles haha!

I love this type of video! Helps to see the bag holds up after some wear. Do you by any chance have bag recommendation for older woman? I am looking for a luxury bag for my mom esp. for when we travel.. so ideally not heavy and easy to manage, can be worn cross body, doesn’t scream luxury so we don’t become target but timeless and not too small but small enough to keep essentials. Most of my bags are heavy so when I travel I don’t bring them.. 😅 Btw- I have small face and also barely there nose bridge lol. I know you mentioned you love the sunglasses brand from Korea but just wanna throw it out there for Ray Ban. I am a big fan of their polarized version to protect my eyes and have a couple of their Aviator line and the Round Double Bridge style. Love them!! I even got one for my mom 😎🕶

Love the look of the Jamie. Have you noticed any pilling at the back from wearing crossbody? That is my main concern about getting it

I haven't but it's still pretty new. That said, I'd be surprised if there's piling just because it isn't a particularly high pile fabric and the back is extremely structured. Unlike a tweed or boucle, it doesn't feel like there's any extra material to pile if that makes any sense?
